Not only is the the worst sushi I have had, it´s the worst meal I have ever gotten in the whole city. There was no salmon meat in any of the salmon dishes I ordered. And in one of the rolls there was literarily no salmon at all!
Other people have told me before they mostly have rice and not much fish. But to then also use only the left over of the salmon in the rolls, leaving only the gray meat that doesn't taste close to what it should is a scam.
To make things worse when I complained they where really rude about it. I had to drive down with the dish to deliver it back only to be told that "it's suppose to be like that". Which isn't true. (Just see photo below from other place) I should have been offered the meal for free and they would not even do that. Or gift an extra dish for the hassle of returning it and ruining Friday nights dinner but they just said "we don't give anything extra". Not even owning up to that this is not what salmon tempura sushi should look like at all!
The right side photo is from another sushi place called HT Sushi in Kristiansand. They have really good sushi. Food Asylum and FoodEx too. Basically ANY other sushi place than Mai Oishi and you...

27 May 2020 Arrived 50 minutes before closing, one other couple there. I sat down. waited 10 min for a menu, had to ask for one and then get it myself at the counter. Waited another 10 minutes for someone to take my order, turns out I have to place my order at the counter. Order some Thai dish with prawns. Get info it takes 20 minutes to cook, ok. then they came with new info they were out of some ingrediens, have to order something else. Okey...decide on meat dish, no they didnt have that one either. Counter girl suggest some sushi to go, closing soon! at 19.30. Showed some frustration before I left..still hungry.
Some how I got a bill from that place to!

A great place to grab a bite. Nice Staff and delicious food. But you need to be patient, and you need to check for when the food is ready by yourself. But it is Worth it as the food is great. Me personally think the restaurant dont utilize its space in an efficient way. One huge table eating up alot of the waiting space with a weird lounge solotion in the middle of the ordersection....
