Stayed for one night whilst on business. ||When we asked the taxi driver to take us to the hotel he explained that there is no parking at the hotel, so he would have to drop us around the corner due to road restrictions, so if you are travelling with anyone with mobility issues I think this would cause a problem.||Check in was quick and easy and the reception staff were very friendly.||To access the rooms, we had to cut through some office blocks which were attached to the hotel I think, so it was a bit of a hike to the rooms.||The room was very nice, well equipped and clean, WiFi was included and free of charge. ||We headed out for dinner at night, the town centre is a short walk from the hotel and there is a good selection of restaurants close by. ||Breakfast is included in the room rate and was a good selection of hot and cold food.||This hotel is fine, but due to no parking or access for taxis it may cause problems...
Read moreNo adjustable air-conditioning, which was apparently controlled by the radiator. This was defaulted at level 6. I manually adjusted this to "cold ø" -- but there was no difference in airflow from ceiling grate.
No windows that could be opened; there was a side panel next to window -- but this had metal grate over it.
The duvets were of the "all year round" variety, and was way too thick.
The room was nice and spacious, and we paid 1200 NOK the first night before we had to switch to other 1600 NOK hotel.
The Q42 concept is okay, as you get an anonymous backdoor entrance that leads straight into elevator -- instead of walking through reception area.

There is no concierge or front of house staff, however, arrangements were made to give us access out of hours. The room was massive, and I mean that! Not being disabled I've no first hand experience of the access requirements, but there was ample space to access the room, the bathroom was likewise large and well appointed for those with disabilities. The bed was comfortable, the room was warm & clean. There was a TV & tea/coffee making facilities. Also, Q42 were very prompt to reply to our queries in the lead up to our stay. Kristiansand is small, so almost everything is in easy walking distance - although the zoo and waterpark are about 10km...
