Fu Lam China restaurant — Restaurant in Narvik

It's fine. Nothing too special, but I've also had worse.

We actually ended up eating here twice while in Narvik. The entrees are very hit or miss. Half of the stuff we ordered was soooo delicious; the other half very bland. Despite ordering the "spiciest" items on the menu, there was no heat whatsoever. I've tasted spicier ketchup. We ended up having to continually order chili oil sauce on the side, and even that wasn't particularly spicy. At the very least, the portions are decent.

The service on the other hand is a whole other story. Things went very, very slowly on the first day, but at the very least the staff seemed to be doing everything they could. On the second day, we stood in front of the restaurant for ten minutes after opening time. When the staff came to open, they were very cold towards us, and our waiter continued to childishly act rude towards us, as if it were somehow our fault that he was late! When it came time to order, he leaned on one leg, crossed his arms and simply said "ja?" Give me...

I ate menu number 33, Beef in chili sauce, but it was some of the worst chinese food I've ever had. Tasted mostly MSG and salt, and WAY TOO MUCH. No taste of the vegetables, not hot at all, and the sauce really ruined the whole experience. As an addition, I ordered Peking Soup to go, wich I tasted today. I make this food better at home, and I'm not even a chef. This is acutally the worst chinese resturant I've ever visited. It was really cheap, but definitely not worth it. Spend your money elsewhere. If there is something positive to say, it's that the waitor was effective and helpful, and the atmosphere was good, but when the food tastes so bad, no service or atmosphere can compensate for the lousy food they put out. I wonder if the chefs ever taste the food they are making...

I recently visited this restaurant expecting a delicious chicken curry, but I was highly disappointed. The chicken curry they served was nothing like a real curry. It was soupy and lacked the rich, thick consistency you would expect from a proper curry. When I mentioned this to the service man, he acknowledged that their curry is indeed different and offered to change my dish to another one for half price. Additionally, the menu was very small with only four appetizers to choose from. To make matters worse, all the chairs were dusty and restaurant unclean which really affected the overall dining experience.
