Went to Chez Colins for an anniversary dinner. We both had the daily special starter which was chicken confit, it was perfect (so rich, full of flavour and the pistachios on top made this starter complete). For main course we both went with steak; the rib-eye was perfectly cooked and melted in our mouths, the homemade french fries were crispy and the bernaise was out of this world. For dessert we hade a rich chocolate mousse and chocolate fondat; both desserts were superb.
You can't talk or write a review about Chez Colins without talking about their winechart; which is Oslo's best! A wide selection of French wines from some of the best wineyards in Bordeaux, Champagne and Burgund. The staff really knows their wine and gave really good recommendations, and the best of all you can get qualitywine by the glass (which was perfect for us since we had to get home to the kids).

   Read moreRevisited Feb 23': Menu is the same as in Feb '22, so not much to add on the cuisine side but that the presentation of the foie gras starter is amended a tiny bit, to the better in the reviewersâ opinion. Very pleasant waiter, the north-west guy gave us a food and drink experience. Revisited Feb 22': Prices have increased even further, without any other attributes having been improved. Thus the qpr has decreased even more.
Revisited 2021: High quality and authenticity bistro-resto, with a snug atmosphere and a respectable range of classics from the traditional French kitchen scene. Maten er velsmakende, men enkelte retter faller dessverre litt gjennom for oss.
Vi gikk for en femretters med vinmeny. Dette kom pĂ„ 2000 kroner per person â et helt greit prisnivĂ„ for mengden mat. Vinmenyen besto av 5 glass, hvor de beste var en Pinot Noir og dessertvinen. Resten var lett Ă„ glemme, men likevel sĂ„ er det til dette prisnĂ„vet akseptabelt.
Det startet med en vol-au-vent â en slags terte med hvit saus, skalldyr og diverse grĂžnnsaker i sesong. Velsmakende, men den manglet litt salt og syre. En raus porsjon.
Neste rett, en Ăžrret, var god og velsmakende, men fisken var en anelse for mye stekt.
Deretter fulgte den rauseste porsjonen vi fikk: en stor servering konfitert and. Fett og salt â god bistromat. En vinaigrette var et fint akkompagnement, og det kunne med fordel vĂŠrt mer av denne. Retten ble dessverre litt for fet, og vi klarte ikke Ă„ spise opp alt.
Neste ut var et litt kjedelig ostefat, hvor en deilig Brillat-Savarin trekker opp helhetsinntrykket. Vi savnet en god, bitende blÄmuggost.
Til slutt en deilig dessert med syrlig, norsk rabarbra i sesong og en flÞyelsmyk vaniljekrem fungerte fint som avslutning pÄ et stort mÄltid.
Regningen endte pÄ 6000 kroner for to, inkludert tips, for femretteren pluss litt ekstra bÄde i glasset og pÄ tallerkenen. Det er en stiv pris som gjÞr at forventningene blir tilsvarende hÞye. Selv om alt smaker godt, preges alle rettene av en gjennomgÄende mangel pÄ finesse. Det nÄr dessverre...
