Nice tasty szechuan food on Lokka area. All the food we tried are so good, spicy & well seasoned. Really love their pork in chilli oil & mapo tofu. Expect the crowds during dinner time & a bit unfriedly. But amazingly the server work very fast even when she’s just alone. Better avoid peak hour (best time if they just open at 11). Remember to order dishes at minimum quantity the same with the pax seated.

Mark my words.

If it would be possible to give 0 stars, I would. I don’t know where the great reviews about this place come from. Extremely rude staff!

I ordered a table by phone some time ahead and they said they had no table available, but if we would come 15 min earlier they could set that up. I agreed. I asked kindly not to be seated by the door as an elderly family member struggles with a weaker immune system and easily catches a cold if she sits in the cold. I was told that was no issue.

Upon arrival, no one greeted us and we stood and waited for several minutes to be seated. After waving multiple times getting ignored, we decided to sit down on our own. Then, the waitress asked us to switch tables to the table right next to the door. I briefly explained that upon booking we had asked not to sit by the door. She said that that’s the only table available, meanwhile the restaurant wasn’t even halfway full. We accepted.

When drop in guests came, they were placed at the other tables further away from the door. The food came quick and was as delicious as the reviews here describe.

When we asked for the check, we also asked for 2 takeaway boxes. The waitress informed us that we would have to pay a fee for each takeaway box, however she could make the first one free. I have never experienced restaurants in Norway or anywhere in the world charging you for a takeaway box. We had ordered several dishes as we were a larger group of people. Naturally, more than 1 person would have leftovers they would like to bring home in stead of wasting.

We ended up receiving a check where it stated that each extra take away box costs 2kr, but the waitress informed us verbally that this price is wrong and each box actually costs 20kr. She also threw napkins in the leftover rice. We stated that we would have liked to have taken the leftover rice with us, she took out the used napkins and said no problem. We payed without arguing but it’s safe to say we will recommend everyone we know to stay far away from this place. Good food, but you’ll even get friendlier and more professional service at...

We ordered Szechuan spice chicken and there is little chicken and a huge portion of chilies in them, which is fine by me, because I enjoy eating chilies. We didn’t finish the entire dish and almost half of the chilies were left, so I asked for takeaway. The waitress told me that “there is no chicken left so no takeout🥴” I was shocked. We paid the full price, and chilies are the main ingredients of the dish, yet she just decided that I had no right to take away the leftover just because there was “no chicken left.”

Tried to argue with her rationally and take away the food I paid for, but she kept repeating the same narrative (no chicken left) and I just gave up. I offered to pay for the take away box that is provided for others for free, (and I have been taking away dishes for free before in this restaurant) only then she gave in. She then aggressively slammed the takeaway box down on the table in front of everyone, yelling at me in Chinese that “the plastic bag also cost 3 nok!” I did not ask for a plastic bag at all, and I paid for my dishes, as well as the takeaway box that is provided for free in this specific restaurant, yet she just threw this huge tantrum towards me just because she can🙄

I am Chinese, and I can not believe being treated by other Chinese people in a Chinese restaurant in such rude and ridiculous manner. I have been to this restaurant for three times and have been recommending it to my friends, but I am so disappointed now for how they treat customers(as pointed out already in multiple reviews.) What a shame!

I will never go to this restaurant ever again. Not a huge fan of being humiliated, lectured, and yelled at by a random Chinese auntie (which I have many) just because you wanted to take away the food...

Deserves more than 4,5 stars in rating. Read all the complaints. It’s just idiots not getting to eat there. This is a packed restaurant, so you need to book. Do you book tables at fancy and busy restaurant? Well, Szechuan Chengdu is.

After getting hyped deservedly in the biggest norwegian papers, you bet this is going to be packed the next 36 months at minimum.

Everyone is eating here now. The regulars, the hipsters, the rich..

1 star «No time» review. Dude, how dumb are you? You think they will run out of business? Hilarious.

I was here with a group of friends. Food is amazing and the service is heart-warming. We were laughing the whole meal. Very enjoyable and very cheap. Remember to order from the red menu. I guess you don’t have to, because I guess we all are here for the red menu. The fish MELTED in the mouth.

Smooth like butter, like wagyu undercover.

Beef in chili oil was lit. 3 portions of sweet & sour pork was from the “normal” menu, but like.. that’s a stable authentic Hong Kong dish. Fried fatty pork was like bacon on SPEED. Like what?! Beef and beef stomach is a cold dish I’ve never had and holy moly that was nice. Mapo tofu was good, but not amazing. The vegetable dish got some mixed reviews ranging from good to “best vegetarian dish ever”. I felt the chicken dish was ok, but the other guys loved it and this is the beauty: don’t like it? Don’t eat it. There’s like 20 other amazing choices.

Last tip: if by some miracle you’ve never had chinese food in your life then this shouldn’t be your first. You’ll eat, but you won’t know how...
