We had breakfast two days in a row here at this cosy cafe in Henningsvaer. The staff is courteous and they all carry a smile on their faces always. The cinnamon buns were the best we had during our trip to Norway and are a must try. The cafe’s decor is extremely cute as well. Vibrant house-made candles adore the walls and little nooks around the place. The first day we were with our friends and in a big group of 8 people and tried their fresh pesto mozzarella sandwiches - very fresh and perfect accompaniment to the sweet treats, lattes, hot chocolate (5-stars again per kids:) , cappuccino & Americano. We also tried several of their desserts and they were all great. If you have to skip something- the open faced cold shrimp/prawn sandwich - that can be skipped, it wasn’t very nice. Also wanted to point out that they catered gracefully to a child of mine with allergies as well & made a fresh mozzarella sandwich without pesto, which added to the list of appreciation I have for them. All in all a must visit place whether you stay in this adorable town or are just driving through and want to find a good...
Read moreI was having a very disappointing evening after getting turned away from multiple restaurants in town because none of them had a table available. I got on my car and was on my way out of town. On the street, I saw a beautiful angel standing in front of this kafe. As I looked at her, she looked back at me. It was magical.
She then started walking towards me. I rolled down the window not knowing what is going on, my heart racing in anticipation and excitement. It was then when I smelled heavenly whiff. “Is this what angels smell like in heaven?”, I thought.
She was now barely a few inches away from me. “Would you like free buns?”, she asked. Alas, it was the scent from the cream buns she was holding in a bag. They were a godsend. Leftovers at the end of the day, but was still crispy outside, moist and soft inside, very tasty.
I never got the angel’s name, but she made my day. Would definitely come back to return the favor one way or...
Read moreI adore the Italian atmosphere. Italians truly know how to eat and create exquisite food. No one, like you today, has explained to me what a CORTADO coffee is; I honestly studied philosophy in Florence, and the salami pizza here is better than the one near the Duomo Cathedral. I don't usually eat sweets or bread, but in this place, I can indulge in everything. This is my second visit, and the food is excellent each time. Although last year, instead of cinnamon pastries, there was a plain yeast cake, and it tasted the best; it's a shame that this year there was only one with custard. The coffee lacks acidity, is strong to the last drop, and the milk is barely noticeable. My favorite mint-colored table was free. The colorful candles enliven the interior. Oh, and the pizza arrived very quickly, and I recommend adding chili oil—it's good for the...
