Maintained quality for the win!
I sincerely love that this place has managed to one, stay relevant, and two, maintain its great taste.
The decor and general look of the place hasn't changed since I first visited, and that's not a bad thing at all. In contrast to the subtle colors used in the hotel that it is located in, the signature red is a solid stamped reminder that you have in fact walked into Takara.
The staff?
Very friendly, knowledgeable about the entire menu and therefore can recommend dishes that cater to your particular palette.
The chef and the food?
You could take a seat on one of the many tables available, but I would personally recommend you request to sit at the iron grille table where the food from the Tappanyaki menu is prepared live in front of you. The entertainment you receive, along with usually the chef's wit is certainly worth the time you are going to spend there.
The food itself is just simply put, delicious. I would kindly request, for spicy eaters like myself, for Takara to possibly add hotter powders or chillies as an option, but this does not takeaway from the dine-in experience at all. It would just make it that much better in my opinion.
The price is somewhat on the higher-end, but you do get what you pay for I suppose. It is a "fine dining" experience located in a hotel, so, I do get that a certain standard needs to be maintained, which of course comes at a price.
In conclusion. Are you still reading this? Go there, be sure to ask for Lucan and...
Read moreThis was my first time trying sushi and takara came in highly recommended. To start off the ambiance and overall vibe of the restaurant was immaculate. We ordered the Crispy California Maki, Maki Ebi Tempura and Katsu-abi Maki. My favorite was the crispy california one, the katsu sauce on the Katsu-abi one was not exactly to my liking. Since this was my first time trying I don’t really have a benchmark to critique well, however what I tried excited me to continue my sushi journey. We also ordered Rock Shrimp Tempura (dynamite shrimp) and Chicken Yakisoba the shrimp itself was really tender and juicy, the sauce was perfectly done and gave a really excellent taste. The soba dish was really flavorful and well seasoned. The drinks we ordered were the Sakura and Kajitsu, I was not impressed at all especially the fact that they are mock cocktails for the astonishing price of 3.8 rials and 3.6 rials respectively! Finally, for dessert we got the Matcha Mochi and Chocolate Mochi, I really liked the addition of the fruits to the mochi bowl however I wasn’t a huge fan of the mochi itself. Service was excellent, our server anakit was really friendly and helpful. We told them it was my sister’s birthday and they gave us a free dessert plate (fried banana) with happy birthday written on it, so cute! Overall, it was a new and...
Read moreI was invited by my friend to dine in with my family and I must say it was worth it. We had the pleasure of dining during Friday brunch and I must say, it was an exceptional experience. The food was absolutely delicious and exceeded my expectations. The mushroom soup, salmon teryaki, guydon, fresh raw fish sushi, and the noodles were cooked to perfection and the vegetables were fresh and perfectly seasoned.
Our waiter, Loken, was excellent. He was friendly, and knowledgeable. He made great dietary recommendations. He made the dining experience even more enjoyable.
The manager, Sabitha deserves a special mention. She was constantly checking in on the tables, making sure everyone was enjoying their meals and addressing any concerns promptly. She even made time to stop by our table and ask about our experience. It was clear that she takes pride in the restaurant and the service it provides.
The combination of delicious food and attentive staffs made an unforgettable dining experience. I will definitely be...
