I stayed at this hotel for the last of five nights in Muscat, and really regretted not having stayed there for all five nights. Maybe I had very good luck, in being given a rather large room, on the “beach” side of the hotel (although about 300 meters from the beach) which is quieter than the side on the main road. But my room was clean and reasonable well appointed, the reception staff was nice, and there is ample free parking on the street.||The location is simply superb, with the hotel Intercontinental, the Muscat Opera House, the ultra-luxurious Opera Galeria mall, the fabulous restaurant Ubhar, Qurm Beach and the great locals oriented shops and restaurants at the beach on the street named Way 2817 (clearly the Center of Muscat’s high end-populist night life) all within a five minute walk.||I stayed on a weekend night, and there was quite a lot of road noise from fancy cars screeching about almost in drag racing mode. So I would highly recommend planning to sleep wearing good ear plugs or noise cancelling headphones, as I almost always do...
Read moreThis property has a great location, a short walk to Qurum Beach and the restaurants and shops there and kitty-corner to the Opera House.||||There are many issues: Maintenance and cleaning supplies are stored in the open under stairwells, part of the outdoor tilework is crumbling but is left open (a tripping hazard), cheap sheets and pillowcases, basic breakfast. While beds and linens were clean, they were thin, of the cheapest variety. Mattress was comfortable and seemed newer. I've paid many times more for hotel rooms where the beds were terrible.||||So, if you are a budget traveler and get this place at the right price, it may still be ||worth it. Other hotels in the Qurum area are 3 or 4 times ||the price. We returned to stay at this property again after traveling...
Read moreAt a great location, within a walking distance from the beach, the Royal Opera House, a shopping mall and brand names shops, the hotel could be a competition to its more luxurious counterparts. However the neglect and lack of maintainance is visible everywhere- peeling paint, broken tiles, ripped mosquitoes nets in the windows, broken and unsafe electric sockets, 70s fixtures and fittings inc. TV, AC, doors that don’t close, water damage. The water from a shower is yellow. The list goes on. But the rooms are spacious and beddings are clean. ||Also, around the swimming pool the hotel doesn’t provide deck chairs or loungers, and that’s very weird not to provide...
