I visited The Patio a week ago, and it was one of the most underwhelming dining experiences I’ve had in a long time. We ordered four items, including a pizza for my little brother — which never arrived. Despite repeated assurances of “just five more minutes,” it never came, and by the time we had finished everything else, it was already too late. My little brother ended up leaving hungry.
When we asked for the bill, they simply brought it without the pizza, without a single apology or acknowledgment of the inconvenience.
The environment was equally unpleasant. The place had no other customers, and the majority of people around were laborers and workers constantly moving in and out, carrying food trays and sitting outside chatting. It felt more like a staff break area than a restaurant.
The service was inattentive and indifferent, and the food that did arrive was painfully average — a far cry from the high expectations I had after hearing about their “famous” high teas from a few years back. Sadly, whatever charm this place once had is long gone.
Bottom line... poor service, disappointing food, and an uncomfortable atmosphere. Definitely not worth the hype.
In respose to your reply... I appreciate your response, but let me be very clear: I know exactly which location I visited, and it was The Patio on 9th August. We ordered four items from your menu; only three were served, all at separate times. The fourth item — whether you wish to call it a flatbread or a pizza — never arrived. It was specifically for my younger brother, who left hungry. Not once did anyone apologize or acknowledge this, and the bill was simply brought to us as though nothing had happened. That is not acceptable service.
As for the environment, I am not “confusing” anything. The people seated outside were very clearly laborers, and during the course of our visit we repeatedly saw them moving in and out, transporting food and loading vans. This is exactly what we experienced, and it made the atmosphere feel less like a restaurant and more like a loading bay.
To add to this, I now see from other reviews that guests are usually served a complimentary bread basket. Ours contained nothing but cucumbers — not a single piece of bread. If that was meant to be hospitality, it only highlighted how subpar the entire experience was.
What disappoints me even more than the poor food and service is your dismissive reply. Instead of taking genuine feedback into consideration, you chose to deny it altogether. That says more about your approach to hospitality than...
Read moreQuite disappointing experience overall. Generally quite small and cramped seating; one can easily overhear conversation of next table which is not fine. The service is literally poor w.r.t the claimed top restaurant class. Could not even manage serving an order together, 6 dishes came after intervals of 5-10mins each which made things awkward as remaining ppl kept staring each other while those who served couldn't start either. Missing cutlery items on table had to be prompted, didn't even had sanitizer available while staff remained unable to produce despite being asked for it. The food was quite generally overpriced and tasted below average; lacked flavour by miles. Most items were bland and servings were quite small. Presentation was quite basic and okay. No mechanism for customer feedback or even a general courtesy representative to atleast verbally register remarks or even ask if everything is fine. The only acceptable part is the ambiance which is fairly good; nothing extra ordinary. The experience has made loose trust on food reviews and restaurant rankings.. literally seemed bought-off to me.
Reply to your 2-year late response:
Well this review is actually 2 year old and these are absolute facts spilled out for you to work on and everyone else to know! Your such a delayed response (after 2 years) that too in state of complete denial further solidifies & raised my concerns regarding the customer service I talked about. I did not visit your restaurant again after the memorable experience. There might be improvement; but I'm not that sure after going through your prompt response. It's quite evident how much you value customer care! Good luck with...
Read moreAn eatery with a wonderful ambiance for a quite evening out or pleasent luncheon that falls a little short of expectations.
Food is primarily what the review will cover.
The breadbasket was fairly basic with the dressing being decent but the butter left a lot to be desired as it was just butter with sparse herbs on top devoid of any flavor.
The starters we had were the Carpassio rolls which were not the best i had but serviceable. Could definitely use more seasoning.
The second starter was the Paneer and Mushroom Kalamiri which was delicious and definitely a good starter or as The Patio refers to them as Tapas.
The mains were Truffle Tagliatelle which was decent and essentially a pasta Alfredo but it was delicious. Though one concern was the fact that the pasta was unevenly cooked. It went from overcooked to Al dente.
The second main was the Steak Au Gratin which was good but came well-done and dry instead of the medium that I had asked for. However the staff was happy to redo it, after a bit of back and forth talk which had me bringing forth some of my cooking knowledge of steaks and all. The redone order came with a medium rare steak and fresh sauce but the potatoes were from my old plate.
The cold vanilla coffee was excellent 👍 and the dessert which was peach Pavlova was delicious.
Coffee was nothing home to right about.
Overall an eatery with an amazing ambiance where the food fails to live up to the expectations and price point it is being offered at.
Might revisit for tea, desserts and sandwiches but definitely not for...
