The Monal Restaurant Lahore Dinner: Outside seating area: Had heard a lot of negatives about Monal and was apprehensive in making a visit especially when it was a family member birthday we had clubbed in. Made the reservations at around 4 pm. And was confirmed a table within no time over the phone. Was told that its Buffet only at dinner time. The place is wheelchair accessible and has indoor hall, outdoor seating for families in the evening and the upper deck outdoor seating as well. 3 different buffet setups to avoid long ques. Very well organized to manage crowds. Live music playing with local songs in a low tone which is a music to the ears. Got to the place on time and our table was waiting for us. The ushers were very professional and took us to our table and asked me when we would like the service to start as they serve the Cheese Naan and BarBQ right off the oven on the table. Went for the Chicken Corn Soup for starters, the soup is ok and cannot be compared to the Chinese restaurant quality. It’s very desi yet satisfying. Next the Cheese naans arrived, piping hot and spicy. Very delicious. While seated, the mains started arriving. Lahori Fried fish came next, crispy and fresh and I couldn’t ask for more. Next came the BarbQ, Seekh Kebabs, Chicken Boti and Chicken Cheese boti. Very nice and perfectly spiced. The serving staff was very courteous and they kept bringing the fresh food on the table and I was stuffed. Suddenly I realized that they have a buffet setup as well and I have yet to venture for that. The Afghani Pulao was very nice and so was the mutton ginger (I relished the tender mutton pieces). The Paalak Paneer was nice and enjoyable with the fresh Naan and roti served on the table. I was full to the brim and could not venture for the other offerings which looked great. The deserts were Mousse (BlueBerries and Chocolate), Gulab Jamun (Sharqpur style and taste), Bread Pudding, Fruit Custard Trifle and Fresh Jalebis and Vanilla Ice cream. Everything was fresh and yummy. Finished the meal with Tea, Green tea and Coffee station offerings. I must admit that the staff service was amazing and they were super nice as they stopped the music and sang the birthday song as they brought out the Birthday cake to our table. My experience was extremely positive and memorable The views are amazing and I highly recommend a visit before it gets too cold as its perfect weather to venture into Monal. Make your bookings ahead. Updated review 2019: They lose a star for inconsistent service for saying that it is buffet only and the menu isn’t available and sometimes on other days, at the same times I visit, the menu is magically produced and available. I have found that if you don’t visit with a female in your group they tend to sit you in a corner somewhere and your choices are limited to sitting away from the live singer. I visit from the UK with my friends and they think we’re like some of the local men. Get a grip guys.

2018: Monal is on top of a multi-storey car park and the entrance isn't the easiest to find or obvious but there is a ramp on the side leading up to the car park. Then after we parked up we took a lift to the restaurant on the top floor. The lift was attended by a Monal staff member. When we got to the top my family and friends who hadn't been before were blown away by the decor and how busy it was. The building is beautifully decorated with polished wood, palm trees and glass and it has outside seating where you can get a great view of the city of Lahore. There is a live singer and the atmosphere is buzzing. There is also a children's play area with a ball pit to keep them occupied.

We were given a large table for 11 of us at the very top level and because the weather was good the breeze was lovely. Everyone had their own meals and not one of my family complained, the steaks were well cooked and presented and the dishes were tasty. We were also given complimentary lemon and mint drinks which was a nice touch. The service was excellent and the staff were polite and attentive. Dear friends I like to share you my feedback about Monal restaurant today Gulburg branch well they have a warm welcome to everyone environment is excellent but too loudly because of people are too loud & have less manners to care about others after 2 year I come back form UK to Visit them they still have only 14-15 food dishes we start with Chinese sweet chicken chilli is not good I left it immediately then chicken chilli white sour is very good then Chinese rice is Nice Not very good then I go for meat without bread & meat taste very well & cooked with curry then after I taken fish & Kabab with Chicken boti in white sauce nice not excellent then I taste Gola Kabab they are the best food on the floor 10/10 , then this time I drink Margareta Drink which is with lime & mint green without Iced I drink 3 of them In my all food before I finish then I complain to manager who promised me He make one more to check how good it is ,you can’t believe it the 4 glass last one was so so nice that I have no world it’s mean the person who is making the drinks he was tired or not happy for his job because of him we are not getting proper food & drinks which is very disappointing well I complain all to manager who promised me they will maintain they food level up and improve there food & drinks other then the price which they asking is too much for just buffet 2-person is 3595 plus tax 370 plus services charges 216 total 🟰 7780/- rupees which is not worth it in this price I eating yesterday on Carnival restaurant they taken 5248/- in total for 2 person buffet & they are really very very good for all I 100% recommended everyone to visit them if they like a good food & in less price & there Margarita...
