Went for an early sehri. What I liked about their menu was that it isn’t as extensive as most other upscale Pakistani restaurants which basically offer everything under the sun including a bevy of Pan Asian and Continental dishes. Masalawala keeps it simple and uncluttered by offering 3-4 dishes under each of its menu categories be it handis, daals or bbq. This is (in my opinion) one of the telltale signs of a quality dining establishment as they choose to expend their efforts in specialising in a few dishes and then cook the hell out of them as opposed to trying to please the widest range of palates possible which usually leads to a large number of hit and miss dishes.
I ordered the gola kebabs, mix tak a tak, cheese naan and Hyderabadu Handi. First, the cheese naan is probably one of the best I’ve ever had. Not only is it packed with cheese, you can also tell it’s quality mozzarella. The addition of capsicum and (I think) carrots adds some nice texture as well. Solid cheese naan
The handi and mix taka a tak dishes were both excellent and were neither over spiced nor were they drenched in ghee as per the norm at other places. The quality and freshness of the lamb chops and brain in the taka tak shone through. Only caveat; would’ve preferred the lamb chops to be slightly more tender. The chicken gola kebabs were moist and perfectly cooked but lacked seasoning which is something they need to work on. Will try the beef kebabs next time.
Overall, the service and ambience was excellent. Currently, restaurants are facing unprecedented challenges due to Covid restrictions but I have to commend the Masalawala team for their excellent service and on. The management team consisting of Mr. Jahanzeb Zia, Mr. Zaigham and Mr. Faizan also personally showed us around the premises. The glass atrium style of the main dining area and the outside seating area are exquisitely furnished and looked beautiful under the glow of tastefully placed soft lighting. Can’t wait to have a proper dine-in experience at the restaraunt once things reopen.
5/5....

It has a very royal entrance leading to well decorated open food serving area. At the back end there is a cafe to serve snacks and coffee. Then we entre in the main restaurant building having a glass roof and glass walls for decorated viewing. At the farthest end is the huge glass view kitchen. On the left side is the buffet hall having a lot many variety of delicious dishes. Sine I have had their buffets earlier I can safely say each item is tasty and well presented. This time I ordered their Mutton Qeema Nan and Mutton Handi. Food was very delicious and service was...
