Ox & Grill Steak House — Restaurant in Rawalpindi Cantonment

One of my friends came from the USA and I thought to impress him with American causin in Pakistan I thought of steak. I had been to the Ox & Grill steak house which "was" my favorite. I took him to the Saddar outlet, I was excited. We went upstairs and one weirdo looking guy welcomed us.I requested him that I need a table for 2 and I would love to have a table near an electricity socket because my mobile was about to get off due to low charging. He replied in a strange look at his face and an aggressive voice with his hands dancing in the air like an arrogant dancer in the street" hamare pass koi table ESA nahi Jo socket k pass ho". I didn't want my friend to see the embarrassment on my face and I quickly went to the corner table and sat down. The tables didn't have any table clothes or knives there. The same guy came again and throw menu cards and went away without asking anything or bringing water bottles(which was the usual routine of them before I went there). We went through the menu and called him after almost 10 unattended minutes. He came and I told him our order. He looked Soo resty and unattended. " Ya chez youn Hoti ha or ya chez youn Hoti ha " he said in a mnner like we don't know anything. My friend looked at me and smiled, I felt Soo embarrassed. I said in a polite way" jee app lay ayen Jo chez hum ne kahi ha" He looked non agreed and parted. He never asked for drinks or anything. Mr and friend Starr taking to each other and after like 15 minutes out food arrived. They didn't serve us complementary garlic bread or they didn't provide any Table clothes, it was embarrassing. My patience got finished I called the same guy and took his class and I asked him to call upon his manager. Another waiter came in the shape of a manager(because I have seen him already serving there). I told him all the incident and even he didn't said sorry or anything. Even the steaks was not cooked properly. The sources were over flown on the meat and vegetables were in cooked. The mash potatoes and baked potato were raw inside. He went away and after we finished our steaks they brought garlic bread to our table and threw infront of us like a "Ahsan" I'm so disappointed and embarrassed in front of my friend whom I wanted to impresssd. Unprofessional staff. Pathetic handling.

Worst outlet I ever visited. It was my first time experience to visit Ox & grill steak house Reason are:-

Manner less and erogent staff ,started shouting on 3yrs old kid " saying don't touch the window it will break when parents are sitting with kid and watching all which was hardly an issue. After placing an number if time we have to remind to hurry up they took more than half an hour to serve. The starter was not served, where the price of steak was RS 1380/-per head despite telling the waiter which is suppose to immediately served just after an order. There was around 8 stones in meal may be in boiled rice or sub standered black peper herb rice, after payment of Bill these stones were placed onto the hand of floor manager who was just aloof instead he should cut a sorry figure. It was 10 pm and a weekend , there was suppose to be sufficient Beef the order was shifted to chicken. I visited many steak house like American steak house super Isbd ,Roster Bheria phase 7 ,Steak house bheria phase 1-6 which were much cheaper more in serving and very delicious ,staff with smiling faces ,wel etiqated . But this steak house was worst in all. The only mpressing person was an old man at Parking who was very respectable dutiful. Once we entered in ground floor lobby which was full of Bull pics ,showed very impressive type theme restaurant. But inside not more than a driver roadside Hotel. This reminded me "Be Pakistani buy Pakistani if we would have visited any normal restaurant shinwari or Pakistani Hotel in half of it's bills would have enjoyed better food n staff. I don't want to disappoint customers but Google ask my experience and I have pen down my observation for the owners to take serious view ,it's betterment and costumes to be watchful it it all doesn't happen to...

I didn't expect much from this place and I thought of it as a place for steak lovers. Initially, it went up to my expectations with the Manager weirdly behaving like we were working under him in the same restaurant which I haven't seen any manager doing; it was intriguing but we didn't bother. We chose iftar buffet which was advertised as 1450 with 'buy one get one free' all across the internet, but the manager comes and says that it's 1000 rupees per person; that too wasn't a big deal but it definitely spoiled the restaurant's image and portrayed it as being managed by very unprofessional people.

Regarding Food

The Good: The main course items were truly remarkable in taste. I loved the pepper steak, as it was just perfect - even though I do not like steaks much. I'm a pasta lover and their pasta definitely earned it. It was delicious. The other main course items were fried fish, a chinese item, another item resembling chicken pakora and a couple of more items, which were all great in taste.

The Bad: Do Not Try Their Desserts. They were not good in any sense. The manager's unprofessionalism.

Overall, if you're a foodie and don't care much about customer care, it's a remarkable place to head to.
