Me & my family + friends, went to Asian Wok Bahria Town Phase 7 for hi-tea today, and it turned out to be one of the most DISAPPOINTING dining experiences we’ve ever had.
We had made a reservation in advance, yet upon arrival, we were asked to wait for a table because the restaurant was overcrowded (despite our booking). After some time, a gentleman from the management approached me, saying he recognized me from the Beverly Center branch where we often dine. He assured us that he would arrange a table immediately. What followed felt less like a favor and more like a trick. He led us down to the basement which was basically a kids area in a cramped space filled with children running around and even a loud birthday party in progress.
We had two elderly family members with us, one of them on a walker, and moving around in such a congested, noisy environment was not only uncomfortable but also inconsiderate. The table they gave us was shoved into a corner where having a conversation with each other became nearly impossible.
Coming towards the second worst part; food, if it can even be called that. Soups and most dishes were cold. Kung Pao fish smelled and tasted off. Chinese meatballs were hard as rocks. Fried fish was missing in the menu, and sushi trays remained empty for ages before being refilled. The overall presentation of the hi-tea table was so poor that it felt like we were dining at some substandard roadside joint rather than a restaurant that charges premium rates.
The worst part is the sheer sense of disappointment. We had come with excitement, bringing along elders and friends, only to be left embarrassed and frustrated. We paid a hefty amount for what turned out to be a nightmare, since they did not take our complaint seriously and did nothing to compensate. 0/10 for food, service, and above all, the management’s insincerity.
To Asian Wok’s management: if you really care about your customers, I urge you to reach out and address this matter immediately. If not, I will have no choice but to escalate this to the...
Read moreWe’ve been loyal customers of Asian Wok for years, so we were looking forward to celebrating my dad’s birthday there. Unfortunately, this visit ended up being more stressful than enjoyable due to a serious issue that was mishandled.
The evening began with the usual great food, but things took a concerning turn when our soup arrived... with a shard of glass in it. The waiter did replace the soup promptly, but we couldn’t shake the feeling that they were trying to suppress the matter rather than acknowledge its seriousness. It didn’t feel like it was treated with the urgency or attention it deserved.
After we finished our meal and paid the bill, someone came over to check in on us. When we mentioned the incident, they were visibly surprised—indicating that the issue hadn’t been communicated to them properly. They did a quick verification of the soup situation right in front of us, but aside from offering some apologies and a replacement soup to go, we received no further compensation or gesture to make up for the oversight.
What really bothered us was the lack of understanding of how dangerous this could have been. Had we swallowed that shard of glass, it could have been a serious health issue. Everyone involved in handling food must realize the critical importance of health and safety, especially when there are children and elderly people dining in the restaurant.
While we've always enjoyed the food and atmosphere at Asian Wok, this experience left us deeply disappointed. A simple, sincere response from the management could have made all the difference and helped restore our confidence in the restaurant. Unfortunately, the lack of urgency and proper communication regarding the safety issue left us questioning whether our concerns were truly valued. We hope that this feedback is taken seriously and leads to improvements in both customer service and safety protocols, so future diners don’t have to face a...
