Hungry Marlin Restaurant & Bar at COVE Resort Palau — Restaurant in Malakal

I've stayed at three places in Koror and I can't say enough about the Cove. Just spent three weeks there and it was fabulous. Good buffet breakfast with cooked to order eggs, great happy hour from 4 to 7 with $4 drinks including Kona beers, decent apps (bit expensive $8 for 4 wings but they were exceptional or 6 jalapeño poppers), very nice rooms and close to the best dive shop on the island (Sam's). Excellent pool to sit in and drink beers in the afternoon. The staff are all Filipinos so the service is efficient...

The service was very friendly, but that is the only positive, what I can report here. The starter was of medium quality and my main course was a joke. I ordered the steak medium well and got it served rare. After complaining about the mistake, I just got my steak heated again and served again. That did not make the steak any better ... But obviously they love animals here, I saw a mouse walking through the restaurant and another big mouse (or little rat) walked friendly near the pool bar. Unfortunately, no...

I cannot speak for the food but only for the drinks, which most weren't that great. I stuck to only drinking the white russian which was made real well. The beer on tap was ridiculously flat and didn't taste fresh. Pricey but all drinks in Palau tend to be. When the bar is busy, it is of course going to take longer to order. Couldn't ask for a better atmosphere though! Nice music, pool close by, plenty of seating, volleyball, Cornhole etc, located right on the water. Not a bad stop...
