First off the hotel is in my opinion situated in one of the best locations in Palau. Beautiful lagoon/beach access, just outside of the main area in Koror. Close enough to everything you need but isolated enough to feel private and secluded. The room you get will make a difference in the overall feel you get. Since I wasn’t planning on leaving the hotel much I opted for one of the rooms with a deck and I totally loved the view. This is probably the closest you could get to a bungalow over the water without actually being in a bungalow over the water. They have their own little beach area, dock access, and small pool.
The staff were very friendly and helpful and most rooms come with a continental-ish breakfast. Breakfast selection was understandably limited but it did have omelets to order and some meats like ham and marinated pork so it was more than just a continental breakfast and more than I anticipated. [Update] the breakfasts kept getting better and better as the days went by. Definitely caters to more Asian tastes but still good.
All that said there are things to be forewarned about. I had a really nice bathroom and bathtub but there was a bad smell coming from the drain(s?) which I endured the first night. The hotel maintenance and housekeeping resolved it pretty quick though the next day. I’m very thankful that they, along with the front desk staff, were caring and responsive. As obvious as it would seem it’s important to keep in mind that Palau is tropical so there will be bugs, pretty much everywhere you go. So there were bugs, not a lot but enough to be noticeable. There were some bugs in the pool too but that probably was related to rain and wind we had.
The rooms have WiFi which I’m thankful for but it’s slow. Mine was a steady 3.5 down and 5 up. So if you stay here plan to be a little less connected than maybe what you’re used to. In terms of cost it was a bit on the higher end of the spectrum. There are places rated better that are cheaper but there are other places rated the same or lower that are more expensive. This place provided pretty much everything I wanted when I wanted so I was ok with the price. Plus to the staff was great. They really do make a difference.
So to sum it all up i would definitely choose to stay here again. If you don’t plan on staying at the hotel much or care that much about the view then you could opt for...
Read more10/10 recommend this place for the views and the location. Walking distance to great food at the Drop Off, 15 minutes walk from Sam’s Diving Tours.
Incredible views from the rooms great patio space to enjoy the nice weather!
Room was very spacious, super comfy bed, they even got us some extra pillows that were a bit flatter upon request.
Bathroom was a dream, huge walk in shower with a line you can set up to hang your wet clothes after a swim.
The private beach is glorious!! The snorkeling right off of the hotel is such a treat so bring your mask and fins!
Hotel pool was nice, but the water was actually really warm so it wasn’t a refreshing dip.
Breakfast is included in your room stay and the fresh egg bar where you can order omelets , scrambled eggs, and fried eggs was great!!
Quite place so good for sleeping but close to more happenings at night!
Bar right on the water was a sweet place to set up and play cards, work a bit, and just...
Read moreWe loved our stay here. The hotel is the perfect size, it has every facility you’d need but it’s not too large that the private beach is inundated with guests. The location is second to none and the hotel staff are fantastic. There are. Lot of mixed reviews about the breakfast buffet, best way to put it is that it’s a somewhat small selection but the dishes rotate every morning thus there are always new options and the made to order eggs are always great.
For western guests, the hotel is definitely primarily visited by Chinese travellers as are most hotels in Palau. It’s an absolute non issue.
We were told the hotel was fully booked yet we were amazed to find that we had the beach to ourselves most afternoons after our diving trip or island exploring. Blessed to have...
