Ciao Bella Pizza — Restaurant in San Francisco

So I rated this place 5 stars based on my overall experience, rather than more so the food.

Firstly, their service is outstanding! Wait staff is very attentive and friendly and really do their best to accommodate you. The place has a nice decor and great ambiance.

As for the food, I decided to venture out and trying different pizzas then I would normally try. Their focaccia wasn't really to my taste as it had a lot of cheese and I'm not a big fan of cheese. The procciuto pizza was amazing. I also had a tiramisu which was tasty, but partly frozen (not sure if this was by design or by accident).

What I did notice is that this place has a different style of cooking. Their pizzas are "bien tostado" (well done) and as mentioned the tiramisu was still partly frozen. The well done crisp pizza is how I like my pizza, however, be sure to tell them if you don't.

I was there last night for dinner with a couple of friends.

It was a pleasant surprise that the atmosphere has improved since my last visit. They have added tablecloths which cut down the noise level.

The pasta in my lasagna was a little overcooked, but the flavor of the dish was good.

Sadly, our waiter was less than proactive. We had to catch his attention, wave him over and ask for every little thing: the parmesan, the fresh pepper, the dessert options - it felt like we were a bother.

We each had a main dish, a beverage, and a dessert with coffee. The bill was $86 including taxes. We told him we would each pay $30 including tip. We felt he didn't earn more of a tip than that.

Loud cheesy music, so-so service...the food was ok...smoked salmon salad very tasty, arugula and serrano ham pizza good. No way I'll return though. We were in the area and walked into this place not knowing much about it, when we walked in there was a loud old ballad playing over a flat screen television...we weren't sure we wanted to stay, but we asked if they would be willing to turn it down and they said yes absolutely, so we went ahead and sat down and ordered.
