Extremely disappointed !! I'm an experienced world-traveler and I do understand that things can happen that is outside of someone's control. So I generally don't write reviews or complaints, but this was so bad that I felt that I would need to share my experience. I booked my rooms about 3 months in advance through Priceline for seven nights paid in full. Because I had stayed at this hotel in the past I recommended the hotel to the rest of my party. After flying hours from the United States to Panama City, Panama, and arriving at the hotel we where told that our 2 rooms were canceled due to air conditioning problems. We asked for the manager after the front deck refused to help in any form or fashion. The manager stated that they had informed the third-party reservation company of the cancellations but could not show a record or date. After I spent an hour / half on my cell phone with Priceline at international rates. Priceline confirmed that they had not received any notification of any cancellations from this hotel. Priceline immediately rebooked us in a different hotel with a better rating at no additional charge. Before leaving the Ramada Hotel lobby, we confirmed our other friends' rooms for the next day was still going to be honored. Every day after we would go to the Ramada to pick up our friends for daily tours. I would always ask a different front desk agent if they repaired the air condition, and they all replied that they didn't know what I was talking about. I also asked my friends and others who stayed at the Ramada if they had known of the air conditioning problem and what their nighty rate was. All of their rates were significantly higher and no problem with the A/C. So the reasonable conclusion was that the Ramada bumped us because they had oversold the hotel and was purging all the lower room rate guest. After being a repeat quest of this hotel, I felt that this was unprofessional and unbecoming of a national chain. The Ramada put profits over hospitality !!!! This is Ramada's response to my calls.

Read moreStayed with my daughter at the Ramada Plaza Punta Pacifica for a family event. We are from Panama. First I would like to say that the hotel is well situated, a 5-7 minute walk to Multiplaza and many nice restaurants near the hotel and a 24 hour mini mart (am/pm). When we got to the hotel we were briskly checked in and the were placed on the 9th floor (914). The double queen room was nice, extremely spacious, and very comfortable. Beds was comfy, large bathroom with nice amenities, mini fridge was a nice touch. Our room overlooked the pool as well as having a nice view of the ocean, traffic, and the church we were having a special mass at. Ubers were easy to catch to/from hotel. The included breakfast was fine with a different Panamanian dish every day. Lots of pastries and yogurt. Overall the hotel was nice however I took issue with the housekeeping where on 3 days (out of 6) she kept coming knocking on our door while we had the "do not disturb" sign up. Once was at 8:30am, 9:30am (where we came in from a family party at 3am) and another at 10am. Breakfast ended at 10:30 so you would think housekeeping would come after that. Even though we had the sign out, she still wanted to know if we wanted room service and what time? She also wanted me to take the "do not disturb" sign down as she would get "hassled" for it. She also wanted to know if she could come into the room so she could code something on the phone as to not needing service. I thought this was a strange yet very annoying issue with the housekeeping and my brother who was staying on the 6th floor said he didn't encounter any of this on his floor. Our safe also stopped working in the middle of our stay (codes couldn't be entered) and even though they were able to reopen the safe while we were out; they actually didn't fix the coding problem. They wanted me to be in the room to show how I was using the safe (I've stayed at thousands of hotels) but didn't have the time sit with the safe engineer for this so we ended up just carrying our passports with us the last few days. There was another issue with the shade cord but it was fixed quickly. Again, the hotel itself was fairly new and very spacious but the housekeeping really left a bad taste and bad feeling; and we just didn't know when she would be knocking or coming in (we know she came in even though we left the "do not disturb sign" out all day while we were out one day.) For this reason, I probably would choose a different hotel in Panama city but that's just me as I think the facilities AND customer service need to be taken into account. Some retraining just needs to be done for some...
Read moreThis would be the 5th time staying at this property. I just love how simple everything is. Check in was a breeze, as we got there just around 8pm. Presented our passports advised on time for breakfast and room keys given. |Even though I stay at this property many times I am yet to get a high floor. The elevator does take a bit longer in my view but nothing to be annoyed about. |Room was spotless, the King bed massive and the overall scent of the lobby and room make it seem fresh! I thought to myself that this must have been recently upgraded. The bathroom was sparkling clean and the new lighting definitely make it look modern.|I was on the 2nd floor and noise emanating from the street could be lightly heard but not enough to disrupt one's sleep pattern. The proximity to many wonderful restaurants is a plus, as we visit our favourite Peruvian Restaurant just about 10 minutes' walk away, but there are many options just in the area. Walking distance to Multiplaza Mall is also a bonus.|Breakfast here is good, nice selections of your typical morning starters, including yogurt, fruits, eggs, cheeses, bread, sausages, coffee, tea, juices, fried chicken wings and croissants/cakes. I believe everything during this time is self-service including getting your own coffee/tea. At least no one offered while I was there. There isn't an omelets station or anyone preparing your eggs, but I also did notice a boiler to get your boil eggs on!|I didn't visit the pool area again since I was too busy doing other things.|Overall, this is the perfect place for me. Economical and sleek.|If you wanted to be close to the train then this...
