We recently visited this restaurant and had an overall enjoyable experience, though there were a few areas for improvement.
Parking & Atmosphere: The convenience of valet and free parking was a great start to the visit. There’s no dress code, making it a relaxed and welcoming spot. However, the music was slightly too loud, which made conversation a bit difficult at times. Additionally, it’s quite cold inside, so I’d recommend bringing a jacket if you plan to sit indoors.
Service: The service had its ups and downs. On the positive side, they were attentive to individual preferences, such as recommending vegan options and thoughtfully asking when to serve the soup. However, when a mix-up occurred with one guest's order, the server insisted it was the guest's mistake rather than addressing it more amicably.
Food: The menu offered a mix of hits and misses:
Carpaccio: Nicely seasoned and flavorful, but it lacked enough arugula, which was a bit disappointing. Soup: The soup was well-seasoned and so enjoyable that it was fully finished. Their thoughtfulness in asking when to serve it was a nice touch. Pizza: We tried two pizzas – the flatbread pizza and the vegan pizza. The flatbread pizza was flavorful and cooked well, while the vegan pizza had a delicious sauce and fresh toppings. However, the crust was slightly bitter and undercooked at the bottom, likely due to improper oven temperature. Pasta: The vegan pasta had a nice combination of toppings but was noticeably undersalted. Once we added salt, the dish reached its potential. Fish: The fish of the day, which was not the dish ordered, was unfortunately too salty. Additionally, the sauce was overwhelming, making it hard to enjoy the meal. The dish was ultimately left unfinished. Coffee: Two people ordered coffee, but there was inconsistency in flavor – one cup was balanced, while the other was too bitter. Upon requesting a replacement, the issue persisted. Overall Impression: Despite some misses with the food and service, we enjoyed the effort to cater to different dietary needs and the overall ambiance. Improvements in the consistency of food quality and a more receptive approach to service mistakes would elevate the experience further.
We’d still consider returning, as the experience had enough positives to make...
Read moreI was really excited to try this place—the food, the atmosphere, and their social media presence were all incredibly enticing. Unfortunately, the experience I had at the restaurant didn’t live up to the hype.
First, the food was disappointingly under-seasoned. I had to ask for extra salt and pepper, and even then, it barely made a difference. My husband ordered the scallop risotto, and to our surprise, it came with just one scallop. To make matters worse, the risotto was so liquidy it resembled a soup—he could’ve practically sipped it with a spoon. My pasta with truffles, on the other hand, had the opposite problem. It was drowned in truffle oil to the point of being inedible, and the pasta itself was slightly undercooked—not in the perfectly al dente way, but in a way that felt unfinished.
Service was also lacking. Two different waiters came to take our order, and when we explained that we had already ordered, there was a lot of confusion. This seemed to contribute to a long wait for our food, making the experience even more frustrating.
Overall, I really wanted to love this place, but the poor execution and lackluster service made it hard to justify the hype and price. I hope they can refine their dishes and improve their service because the potential is definitely there—unfortunately, it just didn’t deliver this time. Save your time and just go to Filomena...
Read morePrices do not justify service and food. The place is beautiful, yes. But everyone in our table and the table next to us had something wrong with their order. Too much salt, meat not cooked as requested, same with the salmon (they even mentioned they messed up the plate 2 times before thus arrived very late), the mashed potatoes use basic to low quality potatoes. The risotto was too salty, too long of a wait so I didn't bother asking for it correctly. I don't know if the waiters were poorly trained, or if they were short staffed, but either way it was a wait to get one to come. Watch your knees when you sit down, the design of the table makes the bottom base lay low also someone ripped their shirt because it hooked on the able, and don't sit on the bench againt the wall, extremely uncomfortable seat. The pizza looked mad good, but I would never know because I never got mine. Waited for my receipt for 10 minutes, eventually...
