If I could give this place zero stars I would. Tony Romas should be embarrassed to let this place use their name. From the moment we entered it was a mess.
First off we stood waited for 10 minutes for someone to come and seat us. No one ever showed up so we had to go search for someone. Finally we spotted a bartender who was busy stocking the bar and asked him if someone could come seat us. He was nice enough to seat us and go find a waitress.
After waiting for 15 minutes more the waitress finally showed up. By this time I was ready to walk out but, it had been awhile since I had Tony's ribs and I was so looking forward to them.
As we began to order the waitress informed us they were out of rice, then they were out of another item. Can't remember now what it was. I ordered the half rack of baby backribs and so did another person in our party, the last person ordered chicken with a spinach sauce on top of it and toasted bread crumbs.
When the food arrived the ribs looked worse than something I could have made on my own bbq. I asked for bbq sauce and at every other Tony Romas I've been to you get a variety of bbq sauces. At this restaurant I was told they only have 1kind of bbq sauce!
When the waitress returned with the bbq sauce it was in a little plastic cup barely big enough to put on 2 ribs. She never bothered to ask if I needed more and never even offered the other person eating ribs any sauce. The ribs were disappointing to say the least, didn't taste anything like Tony Roma's ribs I have had before. The chicken plate showed up and it was overcooked and burnt, the spinach sauce on top was used to hide the burnt dry chicken.
We returned the chicken plate and the only bright spot of the whole experience was the new plate they brought out was cooked right.
We should have gotten up and walked out when we saw the manager and the cook speaking to a large party of 10 who wanted to celebrate a birthday there. The cook was saying something about not having enough food for that large a party, couldn't quite hear the whole conversation too far away. But it was obvious they weren't happy and they got up and left.
Not quite sure if this place is on the verge of going out of business or what, but it sure did seem that way.
By far the worst experience at any Tony Roma's I've been to.
I don't like to write bad reviews but this had to be done!!
Beware people you will be disappointed if...
Read moreI have been to Tony Romas before and haven't had this experience, so consider the context. This is after Covid closures and Panama has had some extreme measures to kill the virus and its economy. It has only succeed at one. There were TOO many clients ( at safe distance I might add) but too little staff. The waitress seemed to be overworked and had little time to properly tend our table. On top of that, the servings let us see they are saving money everywhere. Little servings, and the options were scant. It was literally take this or nothing. However, even though the waitress was overworked, she never treated us badly. My recommendation, either understand how you will be treated and set LOW expectations or...
Read moreI went for a promotion this restaurant had of all you can eat ribs, and it was delicious. The only thing that i didn't liked was the AWFUL service. The waitress just kept vanishing from our table and didn't gave us a pleasent experience at all. We were 4 persons in the table and she was trying to include in our bill 5 dolars tips per person. In Panama, it is illegal for restaurants and some other places, to include tips. And she didn't want us to see the bill. We were all so angry (for obvious reasons) and i had to call the supervisor to tell their employees to NOT INCLUDE TIPS. And of course, she did not...
