Amazonika Restaurant — Restaurant in Chachapoyas

The food was fine but nothing special. For the price I expected a little bit more. The restaurant ist beautifully decorated and the hygienic conditions are good. The service was also fine. The "Pollo a la Plancha" was quite boring and the sauce kind of saved the whole dish. The "Cecino de Res" was good but the whole dish (Meat, fried Yuca and Rice) was made of dry ingredients - the sauce of the Chicken also saved that one too. The "Alitas" were fine but the BBQ Sauce was lame. The drinks were good.

All in all a good restaurant, but for the price point a little...

Very nice and engaging owner couple. Husband speaks excellent English and studied at Washington state, learning his beer craft trade. He’s working on a tap room and brewing a stout soon.

The owner started as a home brewer - I noticed the keezer and 55L kegerator setups. The one and only draft beer (that they call ‘artesenal’) is indeed good! It’s a red ale that he brewed a few months back.

We came here under the temptation of a cold IPA. You can get over a litre of draft beer for s/30. Neutral IPA.

We ordered the chorizo which was good and the duck which had a large quantity of rice with a tasty chilli sauce but a clearly overcooked duck that could have been mistaken for chicken breast or even beef. Saved by their piscos and ají sauce which were on point.
