Stayed for 2 nights. I arrived early in the morning by bus (CIVA) and was able to walk from the bus station to the hotel. It was early but I asked if I could check in (and pay extra) to have a room at that hour and I was able to get a room without having to pay and it was a large family room; I was told that if they needed the room later they will request me to move but that didn't happen. My room was in the 3rd floor and had windows overlooking two other rooms. The room itself was ample, clean, and had hot water most of the time. The WiFi worked great. My only issue was the different neighbors and how loud they were, this was probably because of the room configuration overlooking the two other rooms. For instance, one morning they woke up at 5am and I could hear all their conversation as if they were in my room and this too happened at night but I was so exhausted that it didn't bothered me. I think I was in room 307 and I suspect that only the rooms surrounding that one and the ones below suffered the same issue. Other than that the price was good and location only a block and a half from the Plaza. I only had breakfast one day but I think there was a miscommunication because the lady mentioned many items available including avocado and other things so I said how I wanted the eggs and the humitas but I didn't get the avocado, so perhaps you have to specifically request it. Seems that they do room service daily which I was not expecting, so if you dont want room service you might have to specified that in the front desk as there are no sign that you can put in the door to avoid someone entering the room. Also, both Expedia & Priceline indicates that there is laundry service so I was expecting a place to wash my clothes but there isnt one (there is apparently one close by but I couldn't make it). A taxi to the airport was only 20 soles on a holiday. All in all its a clean place, affordable and with great location just make sure you get a room not overlooking...
Read moreStayed here for about a week when my friend and I went to Chachapoyas in August. The hotel was near the main square and close to many restaurants. The rooms were comfortable and clean. The bathroom was spacious and always had very hot water. Breakfasts were delicious and the cooks were very accommodating often offering us additional food items in addition to the breakfast of eggs, bread and fruit juice (like humitas and tamales).||||What really set this place apart was the staff and the service we received. I have never been treated so well at a hotel! They staff were friendly and very helpful especially in terms of giving us advice on places to see and helping us arrange our travel. They even helped us arrange a private car to Leymebamba for a side trip for two nights and made sure to book with a trusted taxi service. When the driver who arrived was not the one expected, they called the company and verified the name, appearance and license plate of the car. I even was given contact info in case we ran into trouble along the trip. Such kindness and concern for...
Read moreLocation is convenient. Close to the main square, the "local" bus stations and a few of the larger bus companies. Staff was very pleasant and the casa looks very nice. I estimate that for Chachapoyas standards it is good value. |Personally had trouble sleeping because the hard bed and soft pillows were uncomfortable for me, therefore had neck ache each morning. You can hear your neighbours clearly. Wifi is slow, but that may be for the...
