Explorer Deluxe Hotel — Hotel in Chachapoyas

Hotel Explorer is located in the centre of Chachapoyas at 2,335m. The hotel is new, clean and non-smoking. Free Wi-Fi Internet and a so-so breakfast. The hotel basically hosts elder Peruvian guests, we were the only Gringos.||||Staffs are friendly and very helpful. They arranged for us a car plus driver to bring us to Cajamarca as the bus only runs at night. We spend US$160 to see Road 8B over Leymebamba and Celendin. Over two mountain ranges and crossing the Marañon River that was impressive.||||Our spacious double room was adequately decorated and furnished, with a good-bed. Nights in Chachapoyas are chilly and you need an extra blanket. The room had a TV on the wall, desk & chair, wardrobe, and a separate bathroom with washbasin, toilet and shower with plenty of hot water. The window can de opened. Beside the usual barking of dogs all is very quiet. The breakfast is Peruvian and the Americano breakfast is poor. ||||When you appreciate a clean, quiet, good hotel with very helpful staff, hotel Explorer is an excellent option....

This was a situation where based on the reviews, I was expecting something more. Let's start by saying the staff was generally very nice. The room was very basic. If you are distracted by noises, you may need to request a room away from the street. It was consistently loud with the traffic and the fumes from vehicles seeped into the room. Breakfast was disappointing. There were two options, and the the first and second days we ordered the same options and yet received incomplete meals. The third day we asked for a more limited order as to not waste food and still got more than what...

¡Sí que nos llevamos una gran experiencia en este hotel! Las personas que atienden son muy amables y están siempre atentos a los requerimientos de los huéspedes. ||El desayuno fue super completo, en la temporada que fuimos había buffete e incluía frutas de estación, panes, tamales, humitas, queso, jamonada, café, leche, infusiones y se podía pedir huevo revuelto, frito o sancochado. Las habitaciones estuvieron muy limpias al igual que sus baños, las Toallas de muy buena calidad, siempre renovaban el jabón shampoo y acondicionador, así como el papel. Por cierto, la ducha tiene agua caliente y la cama tiene unos cobertores que abrigan 100% =) La vista de nuestra habitación fue estupenda, justo frente al Puma Urco ⛰️ El hotel se encuentra super cerca de la Plaza y la zona la verdad que nos pareció muy segura incluso de noche. Pará ser un hotel de 2 estrellas la verdad parece de mucho más por todo lo ya contado. ¡Muy recomendable! PD. Si desean comprar chocolate o café de la región consulten en la recepción y les darán muy buenas...
