Milky Way — Restaurant in 1st District

Had a quick Saturday lunch here and we almost had the place to ourselves since this is more of an “inuman” place & it seems people mostly come here during the day to take out food, probably cause the place is old, but we didn’t mind. Their food is rich and tasty! If you’re looking for Filipino comfort food, then you’ll love it here! We had Lengua, tokwat tokwa- both super yummy, karekareng pata, sizzling pusit are both good too. Also had sagot gulaman which is the best I’ve tried (I know it’s such a simple beverage but they made theirs extra special my hubby and I were surprised at how good it was) and also the homemade avocado ice cream is so flavorful! We were only 3 but ordered a lot of food and didn’t think we’d finish all of it but we did!

We were so full. If you want something light then don’t eat go here cause you’ll be stuffed. 😅 Thing is when food is super tasty, medyo nakakaumay after. But my hubby thinks they really make their food that way since people come here for the beer too so the food has to be extra tasty and rich. this place has been standing since the 1950s!! The furnishings are from that era, you can see old cameras, television and even the interior says a lot about the restaurant's history 😊 they also have an al fresco dining which is perfect during this pandemic so the air can circulate freely.. they have a lot of food items on their menu and they have a signature ice cream (which will i have to try on our next visit) we ordered beef tapa, pork sisig with egg and chicken wings for a group of 6 and it is just enough for us.. their rice serving is also abundant per person (you won't need to order an extra if you're not that hungry 😁) will try to add pictures next time!
