Tenya - SM Southmall — Restaurant in 2nd District

Food is definitely of high quality ingredients hence the prices when compared to another popular Jap Restaurant in SM, Komoro.

My wife ordered a Set Meal called ALL-STAR TEMPURA SOBA/UDON TEISHOKU, and we chose the Udon noodles which were thicker than the Soba ones, also you had a choice of hot or cold noodles, so I suggested to take the Hot Udon noodles which will come in handy later. I ordered the TEMPURAMEN, something close to what I typically order from a Japanese Restaurant, A Tempura Udon.

The ramen soup was creamy and light, so light that I did not get full from that meal. The tempura sides it came with had no tempura sauce, unlike my wife's order, so I had no to either use my wife's tempura sauce, or dip my tempura sides into my ramen sauce, it definitely tasted weird as i am so used to a Tempura Udon's shoyu soup.

If the Shoyu soup is good, then most of the different ramen soups should be as well, and so should all the other menu items, that's why I often order Tempura Udon from all Japanese Restaurants on the first try because it is light and I can't get full easily.

Good thing, my wife's order had Hot Udon with Shoyu soup, and she couldn't finish all the tempura her meal came with, so guess what.. I made my own Tempura Udon with my Tempura Sides and my wife's Vegetable Tempuras.. Oddly enough, our two orders when combined, can make 3 Meals.

The only parts I didn't like are the following. I wish there were more Donburi Meals to choose from and The staff couldn't help to clean up and set away the Dining Chairs even if we were still eating. It made us feel that we had to hurry up and finish eating.

Overall, it was a positive experience and we will be back to try other meals we can combine and create a meal not...

Walking and looking for a ramen this evening, I saw this Tenya that offers ramen and other rice bowl. Based on my observation, since it is my first time here, they must improve greeting customers. Did not assist me to my table, just pointed it. I understand because she has a business with other guest. Lady OJT server is nice and approachable tho. She’s doing all the work on the floor. Good job! Hard to call her attention since she’s all by herself. She forgot to include chopsticks and utensils when serving my food. Had to wait for a couple of minute while she’s entertaining/taking orders of other guests. Food is great by the way. Tenya SM southmall branch just needed to improve...

Sadly, not a good experience from this branch. 😔Yesterday pa ako umorder ng Baked tray nila worth around 1,500 thru Foodpanda because it was my Mom's heavenly birthday. But they told me na naubusan sila ng frozen mango so I cancelled my order. A representative told me hindi raw nila macancel sa Foodpanda asking me to cancel it on my end. I told her I can't find the cancel button at ang alam ko dapat sila mag cancel kasi sa part nila may problem. Then there's Foodpanda rider telling me na i- drop niya yung order ko sa bahay kahit hindi niya dala tapos bukas na lang ipapadala ni Tenya SM Southmall. Ako kinukulit. Pumayag na ako kasi naawa ako sa rider and there was a typhoon and she assured me na nag usap na sila ng Tenya SM Southmall. Usapan namin ni Ms K from Tenya na ipadala ang order ko ng 12noon at sila na raw magshoulder sa sf. Nag ok siya. I then messaged her at around 11:30am for the update kasi hindi sila nag a- update. Binigay ko address ko. Then she messaged me again asking for my address. Sinend ko ulit and telling her na sinend ko na sakanya kanina pa. Baka na overlooked niya. Last time I messaged her at 12:21pm. 1pm na no update from her. Tried calling her pinapatay niya call ko. (She said hindi raw niya pinapatay, but she refused to reply sa mga messages ko). 🤷‍♀️ I called the other number from their branch telling me na ready na yung food pero wala pang rider. I was like, REALLY??? Anong oras na!!! Kahapon pa nga dapat yan eh. 😤 Your representative did not even bother to update me or reply sa messages ko kung ano na nangyayari sa order ko na dapat kahapon pa dumating. Pumayag na nga ako na ngayon na lang nila ipadeliver ng 12noon pero late pa rin. 😔 Sobrang nakaka stress. It was my Mom's day yesterday kaya I ordered sakanila kasi favorite niya.
