The French Baker - SM Southmall — Restaurant in 2nd District

Food is freshly made. The new ordering system that they implement which you will order first in the cashier, removes the restaurant vibe. Don't know if this will be permanent or not. Hope they retain the old one which when seated your order will be taken. Service was a bit slow during lunch time.

Recommending the bread soup bowl! Good for two to three eaters, or just one if you're really hungry. Tea drinks were limited also so we settled for dark peach ice tea, it is on the sweeter side so we just added some service water.

Chicken Cordon Bleu is a bit dry and the gravy is few to our liking. The fish was okay, but the seasoning was grainy. For a quick eats it's okay for us.

The place & ambiance is clean & classic.

Staff that served us was polite & friendly, jenny was her name if it served my memory right.

Sourdough bread is fantastic but priced at 150.00 per loaf 🤔.

I am very very upset with the crew named JASMIN CAHILIG. So this is what happened, i bought for their promo of half price today. But i told her about my concern because she charge me double the last time .. and i told her about that today. She didn’t even say sorry for what happens instead she look at me while she charging and her face seems unhappy. I told her i let it slip because i just notice it when i check all of the bread at home so there is no point of bringing it back. I just simply told her “can you double check if its right from the receipt.” And her facial reaction was INTIMIDATINGLY RUDE. Im in a customer service as well but i never run such attitude like that towards my customer. I love you bread not the customer service. And even if i love the bread so much but your employee is just like that .. I will not gonna try...

I TELL YOU THE TRUTH, BECAUSE NO ONE WILL

The pastries and cakes never fails! Chocolate palmier to die for! Almost there finer ingredients you can taste the chocolate liqueur in their pastries.

But...

The hot menu is more Italian done Frwnch better go back to drawing board on this. Also, most of the drinks hot/cold are not available. Cake fillings n frosting is lower premium ingredients.

Wait staffs are not in the mood to serve all smiles is not existent. I don't like to feel that you are only good for take-away. To think the dine hall is empty. This should be addressed quickly, i guess bec they don't have service charge....
