Went to this place for its popularity. This is my first time eating Cansi. Aside from their menu, there’s also cooked food available to order by the counter. The Dining set up is like your regular karenderya, open, so expect “flies”. Honestly, nasasanay na ako sa langaw at kasama na talaga sila when you eat outside. Kind of annoying but tiisin mo na lang. Ok, the Cansi wasssss soooo goood!!! I can almost change my Bulalo to this as my No. 1 it’s beating me. Mapapaisip ka talaga, basta Masarap talaga. We tried their pickled Labanos, this is so goood too, it kinda cleanse your palette after eating greasy food. And then their Kinilaw was awesome as well. Now I am giving 4 star because, when we’re about to pay, the Auntie is had a problem with our bill, she had to do it more than 3 times. She listed it or someone did when we ordered the food and then asked us again when we’re ready to pay, made a mistake and listed it again and coming up with the incorrect list and doing it again. Hay Anu po ba, Maluge kayo nyan. I wanted to help her to get the accuracy, but saw on the side that the other ladies were just looking with no intention of helping their poor auntie. Ay kawawa, please don’t let Auntie do the Math and payment. Sorry. But overall,...
Read moreGreat cansi soup no doubt about it. The beef is tender and it has small bone marrow. This is not a fine dining restaurant at all. Its just a busy local eatery so if you are picky dont eat here. Bad ventillation as there are just few fan so we were really sweating. The staff doesnt speak tagalog that much. They are also dismissive. When we get there we dont know how to order (if they will go to your table to ask, order in front with the display of dishes or at the back with the writing "pay here cansi 450 pesos" ) so we asked multiple times and we were dismissed. We sat down and wait. Then to our surprise, a server put down two cups of rice, one bowl of cansi and condiments. So my friend and i looked at each other and thought that OKAY THEY DECIDED FOR US. I ordered drinks and beef steak to add. There is no price list or menu at all. After eating we asked how much and someone just told us 750 pesos without telling us why or without receipt or list etc. We paid and get up as it is colder outside. My friend said he will come back since he really liked the...
Read moreI recommend potential visitors to order their Cansi and Fried Cansi. I am not a local and I did not expect Cansi to be better than Batangas Bulalo. The soup is rich in umami and the servings are quite generous, albeit a bit on the expensive side. Got a really large bone poking up our large bowl and enjoyed the marrow inside. The meat is quite tender and is easily separated from the bone... Its not "rubbery" i.e. does not need to be chewed a lot to swallow.
One can enjoy the Cansi (soup) on its own without any condiments, but for the fried Cansi, I squeezed 3 Calamansi, chopped some red chili and put a teaspoon of fish sauce on a small bowl (can ignore the fish sauce if its too salty for you) and put a very small drop of the concoction to the viand for spice.
Note that this is a not a fine-dining resto, its just a busy eatery as one of the reviewer said. Its also does not have AC, but it was not that hot despite visiting mid-day at the peak of summer, and slurping down that...
