Gagay's — Restaurant in Baler

We were at Gagay yesterday and were the only customers during that time. Food was really good (5/5 ⭐) but the customer service needs a lot of improvement.

While we were still eating, the staff turned off most of the lights and left only one light on, which ruined the ambience.

While we were still eating, We asked for tissue but were told to just get it ourselves near the water dispenser instead of being assisted.

There was dust and paint smell from a nearby renovation, and I had to stand up to adjust the electric fan myself to keep the dust and smell from going to our area since no one helped.

Extra rice price was inconsistent. First told it was ₱20, but when paying, suddenly changed to ₱40 as per their boss.

Overall, food was great, but the service really needs to be more attentive and...

Never knew that this new nook will surprise and elevate our expectation in our trip to Baler. It has all the kind of food we normally have during dinner esp pad thai, lemon pepper chicken wings and japanese curry katsu! They share the front lot with Kubli Resto so you'll need to pass thru it and enter the rightmost door then hike the ladder to enter the place. Wasn't able to take a pic of the chicken wings because I absentmindedly munched on those after arriving at our table. We got in the place on a Saturday night where there's a gig playing, so we quite enjoyed the ambiance further. And oh, their coffee...

We went here for dinner without expecting much, but ended up loving it!! The staff is super nice, very helpful also with allergies. We both ordered their Chicken Katsu and loved the simplicity of the meal and the very good taste. My passionfruit shake was really good and stayed cold throughout my meal. The restaurant is above the Kubli Bistro so to get there you have to walk through that restaurant. The atmosphere is nice and the place itself is cosy, plus you get a nice performance from the restaurant below. Overall we really liked our experience here and would definitely recommend...
