Finally found a real coffee that hits the spot! We are welcomed by Ms Aimee lovely owner of Phil's Brew. The place is pleasantly bright and homey. It's like your Tita's (Aunty) little garden area where you can relax and enjoy your merienda while listening to soft music. We ordered Americano and Iced Coffee. I asked Ms Aimee regarding their coffee blend as I noticed that its not acidic, I was advised that they are using a special blend. Our coffee was perfectly paired with Tres Leches cake (my brother almost finished this in a minute and wanted another for himself!) and Biko with Macapuno (so satisfying, I can probably eat one bilao as its not too sweet). Both are delicious, we come from Bulacan.. home of kakanin and malagkit. So believe me when I say they serve really good Biko. Please ask and check their available cakes as its not on the menu. It would be ashamed to miss it. Price is affordable too base on coffee and service quality. We'll definitely come back to try their tablea (chocolate) cake and lemon cake. Thank you for giving us complimentary Biko and your hospitality.(She said that she kept us waiting, but we didn't wait that long...

The owner, Imee, is a native Ivatan whose grandfather was the namesake of its street, and whose father is the namesake of the cafe and restored the traditional stone house in the middle of the property. Lounge around in her garden while enjoying a proper cup of coffee.
She makes good espresso and some pour over brewing options. In fact, this is probably the only place in town where you can get a decent cup of decaf coffee.
Ther tres leches cake is AMAZING -- light texture with layered flavours. Another interesting item on the menu is the dukayo ("dukay", local name for cassava + "bukayo", sweetened grated coconut meat) which is great for an afternoon snack but heavy as a dessert. Other pastries and cookies also available but the tres leches alone is worth...

The Food - they have their own brew and mix which really tastes good. They also have an iced tea (tubho tea) thatâs so refreshing, perfect for afternoon break. Their cakes are really good. we got to try their tres leches and chocolate cake topped with coconut curd. Too bad we werenât able to try their delicacy/kakanin of the day as itâs always sold out.
Owner/staff - maam aimi! Sheâs so enthusiastic! She works alone she doesnât have any helper or waiter to take orders, serve food, or bus out tables. So itâs self service but it doesnât...
