We ate here a few hours ago, it was not a great experience.
The Crispy pata kare kare: the rice was oily and did not have any seasoning. It's more of a crispy pata dish with some vegetables and bagoong on the side with yellow fried rice.
The smoked salmon had cheese on top but that was it, they probably expect the cheese to give it taste or have it with the vegetables that's mildly sour?
The Salpicao was 'ok' but at 495, not worth it. A few beef cubes with canned mushrooms.
The worst part was the service, there was a guy on his phone the whole time we were eating and was watching videos at a high volume. Not once was my water refilled and we only got a refill at the end when I asked for it. Take note, we were the only ones inside the restaurant. It's not a busy day by any means.
No one also asked how was the food and why there was a big chunk of salmon left over and if we want to have it wrapped up. It's funny because they charge a pretty high service charge for providing...
Read moreVery homey feeling and cosy! We went here on a chill hours, (not peak hrs) and staffs are still attentive. Their food isn't that pricey and are affordable. They got western type cuisines from salads, sandwiches, to seafoods, up to luscious pork viands. They also have typical Filipino breakfast dishes.
We had Adobo Flakes (yummy), Batangas Tapa? (this is pork but still tasty and flavorful), Shrimp Gambas (yummy! it is sauteed in coconut oil with a few spices/herbs), Croque Monsieur (sandwich with cheeses & ham with fries, was okay not so special but isn't bad too) and lastly the Baked Salmon (this was my order, I didn't like it that much because I was expecting the cheese to be flavorful without being too milky? too much "umay" taste.. I think it would be great to incorporate some garlic on the cheese mixture.)
Staffs are nice but haven't seen them in action during peak hours yet. But overall, the experience was great. Nice ambience outside throughout the garden and...
Read moreHappened to select this place to let traffic pass with a few drinks. The place has a very nice ambiance to it, with good parking for several vehicles. It's very obviously a converted home, which makes the place quite endearing. We ordered a salad and gambas to go with our beers, which were ice cold. The food was ok, not bad, but not excellent either. Frankly, I had expected a bit better. To be fair, we did not order entrees, so that's something to go back to for another day.
I would like to note that we complained about 1 half-cooked shrimp in our order of gambas and had it brought back to the kitchen for a quick fry. What the chef did was to replace the whole order with a fresh batch, and he even stepped out of the kitchen to acknowledge his mistake. Made me respect him and the establishment a lot more. Makes one glad that this is one restaurant that aims for excellence and endeavors to give their customers a pleasant...
