We had a terrible experience!!! If you want quality service, go somewhere else, please!
Before coming I made sure to call and booked a table. I talked to Ritchel (or Rachel?) and she told me that they werenโt taking dine ins but she said they can still accommodate us. I actually thought this was amazing that they can do this for us. I told her my thank youโs and mentioned that this was a really special night.
But things took a totally ridiculous turn when we got there.
You have to understand that we came from Lapu lapu and went through terrible traffic to get here.
When we parked we were immediately met by this guy who said they only do take out orders, but then I told him that I already spoke to Ritchel and that we had already booked a reservation with her. He clearly wasnโt happy about that and rudely told me to ask Ritchel again. He was really rude and had a bad temper.
Ritchel met us by the entrance and immediately I felt she didnโt want us there. Itโs just weird because there were 3 other groups dining in when we were there! They then let us in but told us they couldnโt seat us on a โcookingโ table. I said it was fine and reminded her we were there for sushi.
But when we finally ordered their maki and sushi, they told us they didnโt have rice for their maki anymore, it was bizarre because if we were just told about this, then we wouldnโt have gone through all the trouble! It was clear they didnโt want us there in the first place!
When customers go out of their way to come to your restaurant please donโt turn them away! Especially when you told them itโs alright to come!
Their staff needs to learn to own up to their mistakes, they insisted that I didnโt make a reservation which is ridiculous! Itโs crazy how they would turn things around like that.
I hope this review will help this restaurant be better. For the meantime, they shouldnโt be accepting customers at all if they treat...
ย ย ย Read moreFor a lot of locals, Ginza has been a longstanding favorite for Japanese food in the city. Despite the many reviews I have seen about it no longer being the "same" as how it was in its prime, we still enjoyed our dining experience and were parricularly satisfied with the food.
On the outside, you can tell that the restaurant has seen better days, while the interiors still looks good, it certainly has that vintage futuristic vibe. They certainly know how to welcome guests as each entry entails a loud bang from their gong. After ordering we were immediately served their appetizer for the day. We ordered pork teppanyaki, ebi tempura, pork katsudon and the ginza fried rice.
Food was served and to our suprise, they also served beef teppanyaki which we initially thought of ordering but decided not to however it still made to our table. Our introvert selves did not bother to send it back to avoid any issue. This proved to be a wise decision as the beef teppanyaki was quite a revelation. It was tender and flavorful. The pork did not disappoint as well. The ebi tempura were massive however the ebi was not as fresh. The Ginza fried rice was a great pair to all the dishes. We were full to the brim and which was something I did not expect as I dont usually get full when eating Japanese.
Price was reasonable considering the great food that came in great serving. Service was also quick and the staff was attentive (except for the miss on our order). Our first try in Ginza was great and this would definitely not...
ย ย ย Read moreI came with a friend who highly recommended the place. Being a first timer, I let her do all the ordering. She ordered an all-Teppanyaki dinner, a complete surf and turf offering which included fish, beef, pork, chicken, seafood combo, and stir fried bean sprouts, and a fruit platter of watermelon, orange slices and pineapple topped with vanilla ice cream. I told my friend that except for the shrimp tempura, the dinner was not very Japanese, and itโs easy to mistake the teppanyaki dishes for Korean. However the dinner was delicious except everything was smothered in the same teriyaki sauce. If you close your eyes, you would not know what kind of meat youโre eating. I guess Iโll have to come back to experience their more traditional Japanese fare such as sashimi, sushi, ramen, miso soup, sukiyaki, etc. The servers were very attentive, friendly and efficient though. Nice cozy place too. Small welcoming Japanese landscaping outside the...
