Royal Krua Thai — Restaurant in Cebu City

We picked this restaurant because of its atmosphere, but as for the food, lets just say any random street food or restaurant in Bangkok would taste twice better than here. I highly suspect they just hired some inexperienced cheap young chef to make those dishes. We ordered seafood salad, Tom yum soup, fried rice, and fried chicken dish. The best one is the fried chicken. The fried rice so wet and sticky just make it a little more sticky it'll pass for a sticky rice dish, and its not flavored enough. As for the Tom yum soup, not exactly sure what ingredients are missing, but it doesn't taste like any Tom yum soup I've tasted in Thailand or anywhere else in the world. DO NOT trust those photos in the menu, they look nothing like the real things. They probably use AI or photoshop to heavily edit their dishes. As soon as the dishes were served on the table, I could immediately tell I was in for a big surprise. If youre a traveler tired hungry desperate for some thai dishes dont mind for mediocre none-authentic thai food while enjoying the atmosphere, maybe this one is for you, otherwise you should probably just walk around the plaza for 5 min youll find better restaurants next door with money better spent. I started eating in this resto way back 2005. Early today, I was craving for my favorite dish -- their pad thai noodles. This is the most delicious stir fried noodles I have ever tasted. You can really taste that authenticity of a Thai cuisine with their ingredients mixed together. The mixture of acid and sweetness just blended so well. It created a balance of all ingredients mixed in. But because my lunch break time is very limited with a lot of online meetings happening in between, I opted for delivery. I also ordered their bagoong rice which is also so delicious. It has a bit of thai spice which comes with strips of meat. I love the food and moreso the service. The staff who took my orders online were so polite and I got my orders in less than an hour. Royal Krua Thai never fails my expectations. Really sad to have to leave such a review, but this was sooo disappointing :( maybe because we frequent the other branch in Bonifacio District (which is superb!). Had to send the Tom Yum back because it was extremely salty (too much fish sauce?) and more sour than usual. It came back and it was still so fishy and salty. Vegetable curry was sad, lacking coconut milk/cream in the sauce, and vegetables were undercooked. Servers were also inattentive but it was very busy so we understand.

Then again, the branch in Bonifacio District is PERFECT. Best Thai in Cebu. Visit that...
