My first bad rating! Really disappointed by our experience here. My partner and I thought we'd splash out for Valentine's, and at first it looked great with nice lighting and (lots of) welcoming staff.
After asking to order, we were quickly forgotten about, and needed to ask again. Almost too much staff with nobody in particular taking lead.
My pasta arrived quickly, and naturally I waited for my partners chicken to arrive. After nearly 10 mins we decided I should start. After chasing the staff for my partner's food (nearly 15 mins), her chicken arrived a few mins later. After a few mouthfuls we realised it was pink throughout! I'd had some on my plate at this point as well. Staff agreed it wasn't cooked and took it away to be cooked again. At this point my food was pretty cold and accompanied by a side of raw chicken.
I asked to speak to the manager, which they didn't seem to understand. I then explained we were going to leave, pay for our drinks but not the food (I'd had a few bites of mine), they said ok so we paid and left.
We were then chased down the road asking for money for my pasta, and I explained my reasoning as to why I wasn't paying (eating alone, cold, raw chicken) and they accepted this.
To give this place credit it looked great, and what we saw on other tables looked good. My pasta was good, but did not necessarily match the price.
Leaving a low review in the hope staff manage similar situations better in future. When food is served late, and then not cooked, explain and communicate with your clients, don't just stand back and wait for it...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreLast night my husband and I visited Kugita - initially we were just going to have a cocktail - and they informed us my drink of choice the classic mojito was two for one - and it was bloody delicious - so we stayed and dinner followed!
Firstly the cocktail was a mix between a delicious mojito and a daiquiri - yummm!! I ordered the volcano sushi and truffle pasta! My husband ordered the shrimp sushi and kugita burger!!
The sushi was fresh, delicious, and served with the usual wasabi soy and ginger. The volcano was delicious made with fresh avocado cucumber and grilled salmon - with a lovely drizzle of spice. We smashed that! The shrimp sushi came coated with tempura - delicious fresh prawns and avo inside - so so good!! Would order both again!!
The highlight we both concede was the truffle pasta - served with two fresh slices of soft bread! We were full from the sushi but you cannot ignore something so delicious!! The beef burger was good too but nothing in comparison to the truffle pasta!! Still it was delicious and made perfectly medium as requested. Service was lovely, ambience was good too - we would be there right now if they were open Mondayās!! Sadly we will wait to tomorrow to return...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreCozy, stylishly furnished restaurant. The food: The āCrispy Chickenā is good, small, avoidable pieces of gristle. The āKugita Rollā surprises: on top are three under-fried shrimps. Underneath a mountain of fried pieces of dough you finde the maki, filled with surimi. Why not put the tempura shrimp in the maki, as you would expect? And why the mountain of fried tiny pieces? These dishes seem to have been a particular letdown; the dishes of the rest of the party were better. As in the other restaurants with a corresponding offer (sushi), it turns out that some foreign cuisine is more difficult to prepare with presumably non-professional instructions. The processes are also not properly coordinated, if you look at the sequence: First the appetizer is brought to guest 1, 10 minutes later drinks for both guests, 5 minutes later the main course for guest 1 (starter not yet eaten), 5 minutes later starter for guest 2⦠On the other hand, the staff is extremely friendly, helpful and honest. There was an error with the payment during billing (unexpectedly overpaid): the staff came running after and brought back the...
