The flavors are authentic, the ingredients are fresh, the servings are generous, and the servers are attentive.
The al fresco ambiance is almost like a carenderia, but think "Korean Carenderia." Their Kimchi is sought after, and might take getting used to if all you've ever had were store-bought ones - theirs are all freshly made. (And, according to them, they actually supply other restaurants in Davao, including the local branches of a national chain of Korean fried chicken stores.)
The last time I was there, the samgyeopsal was even served with ggaennip (sesame leaf). Awesome! The meats are tender, and juicy - and the lightly marbled beef are yummy!
This family-owned restaurant is in the small the side, but all their dishes - including the banchan - are prepared with a big heart. Don't be put off by the limited menu, everything we've tried were very good.
Another thing is, they serve the kind of beer we like 😁 - that's a big plus! We already had our fill, and we're already wondering what to try next time we drop by - and we're certain about doing that again.
This is probably the best Korean restaurant in its...
Read moreOur always go-to place whenever we crave Korean food since it's near my workplace. The food there is unquestionably one of the cheapest in the city plus they have different food options. My favourites are their bibimbap, kimbap, samgyetang (I find this very calming, maybe 'cause of the ginseng), and seaweed soup. They give lots of side dishes and slices of watermelon for FREE! The owners are VERY friendly, as well. Ahjussi always gives you a warm smile when he sees you coming in. Parking is not that ample since the place is in a residential area, but street parking is pretty common in the vicinity (not very law-abiding, unfortunately). They don't have an air-conditioning system (yet or maybe ever, we'll never know), but the place is pretty cool and they also have fans to help keep the place cooler, especially if the place is packed. All in all, Sitio Babak is lovely place and, well, your neighborhood...

We had bibimbap, sanggyupsal, kimchi rice, squid bokkeum (we wanted the octopus (nakji) but it was unavailable) overall it was yummy. Their serving was just enough for us three people with regular appetites.
The side dishes aren't refillable. The sweetened banana was 💣! I just wish it was unlimited. The kimchi sides we're okay. We forgot to order the egg roll. It looked yummy on the next customer's table.
The place was also open, yet it wasn't hot! The ahjussi was cooling the outside with a water hose so that his customers won't suffer, he even watered our car.
The crew and people there were nice too.
Overall a 4/5 for a small lowkey korean restaurant. I love the street resto feels and it's not intimidating. It's like eating in a familiar very Filipino restaurant yet you're served with...
