UPDATE: Ate here again today, 7 Jul 2024, and service is terrible. The women that served us seemed to be so unhappy. They look at you like they're upset. Never coming back. Wouldn't ever recommend this place now. 2 montha ago: We've definitely had better and cheaper, but Tadakuma wasn't terrible. The tempura vegetables were undercooked, but everything else was OK. Being that we were the only ones there at the time, service was timely. They serve free tap water (EWW), where everywhere else we've eaten serve free filtered water at least. I would say the price isn't worth the meal. Not kid friendly.

It is a small restaurant with a Japanese theme, However, their food was nothing to compare to an authentic Japanese restaurant, and they had limited drinks. Nothing but sodas or can juices. i do not know which one is worse. Davao is the capital of fresh fruits. One should be able to get freshly squeezed juices. We asked for straw and no straws as well. The food was bland, and they did not have any condiments, so to speak, overall, this is an average restaurant at best.

The food was good but they have to step up more on customer service. They didnt tell us that we only have 30min. before they close and yet they took our orders. If we only knew, we could've transferred to a resto that can let us enjoy our meal w/o the pressure of time . On the other hand, when i insisted that they give us more time since it was unfair, they did extend and acknowledge their mistake.

Salmon sashimi was bland at best. And I know salmon is the most flavorful fish for sashimi aside from hamachi which has a creamy taste to it. It seems like the salmon meat has been frozen and thawed many times which held alot of moisture to it making it bland. It was as if I was eating tofu (overexaggerated example although close). Also, the meat wasn't cleaned well. The pin bones weren't cleaned out and if I didn't chew a little more than usual I may have swallowed it.

On a good note, sushi rice taste good. There's a hint of sweetness to it.

Overall, I'd give it a 3 out of 5. The foods I ordered weren't a complicated dish to make. But freshness 2 out of 10, proper preparation of salmon meat 1 out of 10 (please make sure you there's no pin bones to the salmon meat as you prep the products for service).

I only had delivery but I doubt I'll check the place out physically. I have too many japanese restaurant experiences here, in us, and japan and I have exquisite tastebuds. I'd honestly say it is below average at best. Their presentation is good however regardless if it was delivery. Customer service is good and accomodating. As I called and helped me out with few things...

I don't know what ramen tastes good here but the ones we have tried are not. I forgot the name of the ramen i ordered but it was a miso based ramen with crab omelette which i regret ordering. I've had better tasting miso ramen in other restaurants, the noodles are obviously not made by them and the crab omelette! My goodness the crab omelette just tastes like egg with a looooot of onions and tomato, it tastes so bland. Homemade omelette tastes much better than their so called crab omelette. Also the ramen and soba that my friends ordered did not receive praises as well. The only food we liked was the wagyu skewers and thats it. This is the saddest japanese food i've ever had but i guess i just might not have ordered the good ones...
