If I could give this place a rating other than 5, it would be infinity! Where do I even begin? The food was simply spectacular. The owner explained that every ingredient he uses is fresh and imported from Turkey. He did not lie. We could taste every spice he put in, which created a pleasurable harmony of flavors on our palates. I almost got down on my knees and begged for his recipes right there and then. He makes all his meals with tender love and care, especially the pita dipped in hummus. We will never forget it. It is the best hummus we have ever tasted! You can see, feel, and taste his passion in the food. I was not able to take any photos of our order because we finished it instantly. That is how great everything is! The service is excellent as well. The waiters are diligent. The owner is very friendly and sweet. He welcomed and accommodated us immediately. He even offered us a table by the beach, since the place was not that busy (we visited on a Friday night for dinner). You can tell he is the biggest people person ever. I wish them and their families nothing but the best. We will definitely come back again next time we visit Siargao! I do not usually make reviews, but this experience was game-changing, so I highly suggest you give this...
Read moreA hidden gem - I discovered this authentic Halal Turkish restaurant perfectly situated on the beach in Siargao. Having explored numerous kebab establishments across the Philippines, this place stands out for its exceptional quality. The owner, a native of Turkey, ensures all meat is 100% halal while preparing each dish with unwavering dedication to proper technique and tradition.
The cooking time reflects their commitment to excellence - each kebab is prepared methodically and with precision, never rushed. This attention to proper cooking methods truly shows in the final product. The adana and shish kebab are masterfully seasoned - the spice blend is truly outstanding and transports you straight to Istanbul. Learning that the restaurant is named after the owner's newborn son added an even more special touch to the experience. It's heartwarming to see such dedication to preserving authentic Turkish culinary traditions here in...
Read moreIf you’re looking for authentic Turkish shawarma, avoid this place. They put sweet ketchup inside the shawarma wrap. This is like replacing tomato sauce on pizza with ketchup. It was disgusting and not mentioned on the menu. The menu also lies about the ingredients of dishes, like listing pickles in the wrap but having cabbage inside instead.
When I pointed it out, the owner who everyone claims is “friendly” became rude and defensive. He said I know nothing about shawarma even though I’m from Toronto which has plenty of authentic Turkish cuisine.
We also ordered fries which came with a sweet seasoning on top. I’m not sure why he insists on making every dish sweet.
Overall this place is over priced for what you get. Save yourself, there’s plenty of good food on the island and...
