McCoy's Rib Joint is located at the heart of Koronadal wherein foot traffic and busy streets are a staple. There's no dedicated parking space offered as the place is adjacent to a public sidewalk, but you can try your luck parking in the streets.
The place gives off an american retro diner bbq feel with their wooden dining set-up, checkered table covers, framed 80s movie posters, neon signages, cd jukebox and 80s rock/country music playing in the background.
My only gripe about this place is their washroom, which kinda smells and I really think that food places should incorporate liquid soaps and dispensers on their CR's, which this place don't have and only has a bar of soap instead.
The Rib Joint is pretty flexible when it comes to payment as they accept cash, card and e-money (GCash/Maya).
Their menu can be published as a short story, because its like five pages and over. They have BBQ, Mexican and Filipino dishes on their menu.
I ordered the Sizzling Bagaybay which was surprisingly really good! The bagaybay was soft and not malansa, it was cooked and seasoned well. (9/10)
I then ordered a small portion of ribs which was okay, the meat was kind of hard not like other ribs that just falls off the bones, but it was still good as I ordered another rice to finish the whole thing off. (6/10)
Lastly, I ordered the McCoy's Burger which was a heft to look at, the server offered me a bread knife which I accepted but I honestly did not use, as I just gone with my hands and munch like crazy through it. I didn't like the margarine on the buns though, I mean what's up with that?(8/10)
Overall, the place is great! Food is great, mode of payment is really convenient and flexible and most of all the staff are nice and courteous and...
Read moreA chill place with that "American" vibe. McCoy's Rib Joint offers ribs smoked the traditional way, buffalo wings, and other western food. They also offer local specialties like my favorite kansi - a sour beef stew.
Service is ok, although on a busy night you might have to wait a bit longer for your order to be served.
Place is clean and cozy, the walls are adorned with western pop art pieces and everyone can just write on the wall which was intended for graffiti. So you would see all sorts of names written on the wall. If lucky to find a vacant space, you can write yours, too. The ceiling still has a lot of space though.
The food we ordered was great. Aside from Kansi, we ordered a platter of their specialties which included ribs, chicken wings, fries, among others. Worth the trip, and worth coming...

They have unli nestea drink but it's Per person and per cup. I don't mind the per person part but they should really consider changing it to per pitcher instead of per cup as it's quite a hassle to keep on refilling At the counter, even though the staff are very accomodating.
Their prices feels like its unnecessarily expensive compared to other pricy restaurants.
The atmosphere of the restaurant is great. I like the idea of customers leaving their mark as a part of the wall decoration to commemorate their visit.
Overall I rated it 3 out of 5 as it's quite delicious and have good customer service, but other factors are holding it back and should consider improving on these areas for the betterment...
