I had two meals here during an overnight stay in the city as it was close to my hotel at the Old Albay district. The menu is huge as you can see from the other reviews. You'll definitely suffer from choice paralysis as there aren't any indicators on what the bestsellers are.
Restaurant interior is a little eclectic. Service was very prompt and friendly.
Spicy Tinapa Pasta (P260) 3.5/5 Perfectly okay pasta but I would like the tinapa flavor to be more forward. The accompanying bread is a brioche bun split in two and was quite good and a good contrast with other affordable places that give you depressing slices of white bread. Serving size was quite large.
Ube Cheese and Taro Smoothie (P185) 3.5/5 Serving size was also quite large. The smoothie is very thick, creamy, sweet, and with a little saltiness from the cheese. This is pretty good but I feel like I am getting up in age and this was a bt too much for me. Sweet tooths will love it.
Fried Pork Adobo with Bicol Express (P275) 3/5 Large serving once again with enough meat to make you consider getting extra rice. The fried pork adobo is new to me and seems to be a double-cooked (deep-fried the second time) adobo. I think the meat could have been sliced thicker to preserve a little tenderness/moisture and the deep-fry lost much of the adobo taste. Bicol express was okay and tender but missing in spiciness for someone who enjoys spicy food.
Plain Sansrival (P175) 2.5/5 Their version of sansrival uses hazelnuts and the cake fridge had been tempting me since my first meal and decided to try it. Unfortunately, the cake slice was quite dry for my taste.

The place is cleaned well and the staff made sure to maintain it. The place is not too noisy and well ventilated, making it a very comfy space.
Let's talk about the food! Here's what they served us in order:
MANGO TANGO ICE CREAM CREPE - ♾️/10 🥭Crepe, diced mangoes, LOTS of whipped cream, drizzled with caramel syrup and pili nuts THE BEST!! Not too sweet, a bit tangy, and I can definitely eat two servings in one go
SPARERIBS REPUBLIK - 6/10 It tastes okay, but underwhelming. The meat was really tough 🥹 Like a peppery adobo Pretty generous serving, we two got slices of pork chops
SPANISH LATTE (Hot) - 10/10 Comforting taste and the art looks so pretty Not too sweet and you can still taste the coffee I highly suggest pairing this with the desserts!
ICED CAFE MOCHA - 8/10 Sweet, chocolate'y, but the coffee taste is still there It was too sweet for my personal taste, but if you like sweet drinks, this is for you The drink had a grainy feel to it which made the experience a bit off-putting 🥹
KARE-KARE LECHON KAWALI - 7/10 LOVE the sauce. Very thick and peanut-y The alamang tastes good and reminds me of home (Ilocos Region eyyy) The meat tastes good but it was very tough and rubbery despite being so thin The veggies were also a bit over cooked but still very tasty because of the sauce

(it had similar American styles we craved being far from home) unfortunately we had situations happen the past couple times we visited…but we kept going back. Hair in the food, I pulled out in front of server (no apology..whatever) 2nd time the waffles came out cold. And the last straw was when I asked the server if the katsu chicken was white breast meat as I cannot eat dark meat chicken. Server said “yes it’s white meat” the food came IT WAS ABSOLUTELY NOT WHITE MEAT. ALL DARK! I gave it to my husband but could not eat his “sweet” meat loaf and I asked them to take it off the bill. They would not take it off and claimed the chicken was white meat. Basically said I was lying. I’m pretty sure I know the difference between white and dark meat. Terrible service from the staff ,shame on them…WE WILL NEVER DINE HERE AGAIN! They just lost great customers.
