This was our family’s second visit to Meister’s Uncorked. Our first experience was on Valentine’s Day two years ago, and while it was disappointing, we chose to overlook it, assuming the restaurant might have been newly opened and still finding its footing.
This time, we visited on Christmas Day. We were the third table to arrive and had pre-ordered our food to avoid delays. Unfortunately, the overall experience did not meet our expectations.
Service: The service was average—not particularly memorable, but not bad either.
Food: The food was the most disappointing aspect, especially given the premium pricing. We ordered several mains, but almost everyone in our group, who are generally easy to please, left feeling dissatisfied.
The garnishes were cold and unseasoned. Were they supposed to be that way? It felt like an oversight. Were we supposed to use the juice from the baked garlic and pour it onto the protein? I wish the server had told us that. The ribeye steak, requested medium-well, was so tough and chewy that it was difficult to enjoy. The tuna belly and curry chicken, and steak were poorly cooked. It’s hard to tell if this was due to the quality of the ingredients or the cooking itself. The chicken (with fusili pasta), although tough, was surprisingly the best dish we ordered—a telling reflection of the overall meal.
Given that we pre-ordered, I wonder if the kitchen struggled to handle larger groups. However, that shouldn’t be an excuse for poorly executed dishes.
In conclusion, Meister’s Uncorked presents itself as a high-end restaurant, but the food quality doesn’t justify the price or the...
Read moreThis is by far my new favorite restaurant in the Philippines, it has a perfect incorporation of high-quality ingredients and textbook preparation. The food is a collage between Italian, and French, and they do a masterful job of both. I was very impressed with the elite selection of drinks to include Bourbons, scotches, Japanese whiskeys; a great selection of craft beers and wines with wonderful classic and unique cocktails as well. I’ve traveled to 78 countries and love to try all kinds of foods. The steak that I had at meister’s might be the best I’ve had in a restaurant anywhere in the world. Their deserts look simple but when you try them you’ll find a magical melody of different layers of flavors that don’t rely on overwhelming sweetness to make them stand out.
The environment is a 10 out of 10, The restaurant is new and has a very modern contemporary overtone. Fantastic wall art and superb lighting create an atmosphere perfect for business or romantic dining. Not to be out classed bye the superb wood work on the custom doors, tables, and trim. The restaurant feels like it’s a Michelin star located in the French alps. However, it’s humbly located in a small Philippines neighborhood; which I think adds to the charm.
The restaurant is clearly brand new, and should be in the “figuring it out stage“ that most restaurants go through. If this is their version of figuring it out, I can’t wait to see how...
Read moreMy wife and I spent Valentine’s Day here and loved it. She is originally from Los Banos and I am from the states. I have been to Los Banos three times and this is my first time visiting Meisters. It probably is the most expensive restaurant in Los Banos but to be fair, it is offering something I have not found yet in the area. The building itself is new and beautiful and you have plenty of space between tables. The food is also great: the half chicken and the pompano were fantastic.
They often have live music which is a nice touch and probably the best alcohol selection in town. I was blown away by their scotch/whiskey offerings and the manager/bartender’s knowledge of them. And if that isn’t enough for you, they even have a small humidor with high-quality cigars!
I enjoyed it here so much that I came back the following evening by myself to relax at the bar. I brought a book with me to read but didn’t need it since the staff were so friendly and great to talk with. The owner, David, is also very friendly and passionate about this unique experience he has created.
And a shout out to Jason, Joey, and Mylko (sp.), thank you for making me feel like I was enjoying a relaxing evening in my very own house! You...
