Location: Natividad, MARILAQUE Verdict: Come for the breathtaking views and ambiance; manage expectations for the food.
Stepping into this spot in Natividad is a genuinely breathtaking experience. The location offers a stunning backdrop that immediately elevates the mood, and the restaurant’s interior ambiance is also quite good. If you’re looking for a peaceful escape and beautiful photos, this place delivers perfectly.
Unfortunately, the culinary experience doesn't quite match the scenery. Simply put, the food is serviceable enough to fill you up, but certainly not a destination for serious dining. Considering the somewhat pricy menu, the value proposition is heavily skewed toward the aesthetic.
The Dishes: Dry, Crunchy, and Just "Okay"
We tried a variety of plates, as seen in the photo, and consistency was a major issue across the board:
Longganisa & Breakfast Plate: The longganisa was disappointingly dry. Similarly, the accompanying protein, which appeared to be a beef patty, was overcooked to the point of being hard and almost crunchy on the outside definitely something that needed to be sent back to the kitchen.
Crispy Chicken Skin: While it had some flavor, it suffered from having too much flour in the coating, seemingly to bulk up the size. It lacked the satisfying crispness and savory flavor punch you get from the unpretentious, "bangketa" (street-side) versions.
Pasta Dishes: We sampled both the creamy pesto and the shrimp pasta. Both were described as "just okay," with the creamy pesto having the flavor profile but not enough intensity to make it crave-worthy. A significant drawback for both pasta dishes was the small serving size, which felt particularly stingy given the premium price point.
Final Takeaway
This is an easy decision: if you prioritize ambiance, stunning views, and a great place to relax above all else, you will not be disappointed. The setting is truly exceptional.
However, if your primary purpose is a satisfying and well-executed meal, we cannot recommend it. The dishes are functional but forgettable, and the costs don't align with the quality delivered.

Read moreKape Natividad is a popular coffee shop and restaurant in Tanay, Rizal, Philippines. It is known for its delicious coffee, pizza, and other food items. I recently had the opportunity to visit Kape Natividad and try some of their food.
I started with the Latte. It was made with their house-roasted coffee and was very smooth and flavorful. The coffee was not too bitter or too acidic, and it had a nice nutty flavor.
For my main course, I had the Salted Caramel Latte. It was made with the same house-roasted coffee as the Latte, but it also had a salted caramel sauce added to it. The sauce was sweet and salty, and it paired well with the coffee.
I also tried the White Pizza. It was made with a white sauce, mozzarella cheese, and Parmesan cheese. The pizza was thin and crispy, and the toppings were delicious. The white sauce was creamy and flavorful, and the mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses were melted and gooey.
Overall, I was very impressed with the food at Kape Natividad. The coffee was delicious, and the pizza was amazing. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great meal.
