Dapo at Tisa – Food Critic Review
Food (Taste, Quality, Presentation) – 5/ 5 Dapo at Tisa brings back the best of Filipino comfort dining — hearty servings, festive flavors, and the nostalgic charm of Barrio Fiesta in its early days. Their Buttered Chicken, one of the restaurant’s signature bestsellers, delivers on both crunch and comfort: golden, crispy skin with tender meat underneath and a buttery glaze that’s rich and flavorful. The only drawback? It leans slightly on the salty side — but still undeniably satisfying, especially when paired with rice. The Sizzling Pork Sisig is perfectly balanced, with crunchy pork bits, chopped onions, and chicharon creating that ideal mix of texture and flavor. A squeeze of calamansi brightens the dish without overpowering it. Meanwhile, the Sinigang na Bangus sa Miso offers that homey, tangy-smooth broth Filipinos crave — vegetables remain crisp, and the fish stays firm and clean-tasting. Everything is served hot and well-presented, with generous portions that feel like handaan sa bahay (a feast at home).
Service (Speed, Attentiveness, Professionalism) – 5 / 5 The service here stands out not just for speed, but for sincerity. Staff are courteous, observant, and quick to assist. What truly impressed me was their honesty — one server immediately admitted a ₱20 shortchange and corrected it right away, with full apology. It’s a small amount, but a rare act of professionalism that speaks volumes about integrity. Their warmth and attentiveness made the meal even more enjoyable.
Atmosphere (Décor, Comfort, Noise Level) – 5 / 5 Dining at Dapo at Tisa feels like joining a family celebration — cozy, lively, and authentically Filipino. The setting is simple but inviting, with woven placemats, wooden furniture, and bright lighting that gives it that “Barrio Fiesta” charm. It’s bustling but comfortable — the kind of cheerful noise that signals full tables and good food.
Menu Strategy & Value The menu stays true to its roots — Filipino staples done well and meant for sharing. Solo meals range from ₱150–₱300, while sharing plates hover around ₱300–₱600. The servings are generous and the flavors crowd-pleasing. For dessert, the Dapo Secret (₱220) is a standout — creamy, fruity, and indulgent. Drinks like Avocado Shake (₱155) or Sago’t Gulaman (₱85) make excellent companions.
Overall Verdict – 5 / 5 Dapo at Tisa shines not only for its food but for its integrity and heart. The flavors are bold, the portions generous, and the service refreshingly honest. Whether you’re celebrating a birthday, anniversary, or just gathering for a family meal, this place captures what Filipino dining is all about — warmth, generosity, and community.

Read moreFood is awesome, and ambiance is good. Must eats are the crispy pata, buffalo wings, and sizzling tofu.
However the reason why I gave one star is because we had experienced a bad customer service - a spider squid is a new offering (not found on the menu) that the lady server said it is priced @ 135 pesos however upon billing out we realized we were wrongly informed becuase it is 315 pesos! I guess it's not about the price but the feeling of us being shortchanged. I should have rated 4 or 5 stars but becuase of bad service we have experienced it totally went down.
We just only heard an apology...
