This review is not late. I just put it last amongst my immediate "to-do list" after marrying my husband in this beautiful place in Marikina City named Miguel & Maria on February 10, 2024. I knew I would have to really focus on this one because, as the Lord said, give whatever is due.
So, here it is. As a self-confessed food enthusiast, I remember visiting both Comedor and Miguel & Maria (which I have already tried twice not long ago) restaurants along Mayor Gil Fernando Avenue as a bride who tries to balance good food versus budget. And between the two, Miguel & Maria's menu, including the resto's ambience, is definitely closer to our liking.
We all know what Miguel & Maria is to many; they are known for great food and classy, homey feels, not to forget the exceedingly good service we have experienced in our recently held wedding headed by their very friendly, welcoming, and generous Banguet Officer, Hadji Sabado.
Hadji was the man in those hours! The simple private room we reserved for 24 pax for a simple intimate formal wedding ceremony I dreamed of was brought to reality. Hadji helped me spread my budget from the starter soup to the green salad to the four-course main menu and wrapped it with a slice of cake and a cup of tea of the guests choice. Everything was just supposed to be on serving platters, but yes, it was individually plated as requested, together with the water goblet and napkin cloth to complete the formal look of our tables. But wait, here's more! The reservation includes a basic sound system, but I was even lent an easel stand for my wedding sintra board for the altar and additional tables on both sides for my gifts and wedding elements. Hadji made me stress-free the whole time and even before the date because he instantly replied to all of my queries and requests. And for this special day of ours, my husband and I will never forget Hadji, Miguel, and Maria, whom God used to make it extremely memorable for us.
Congratulations, Miguel and Maria, for having such a good guy like Hadji. He really does his work well, with a personal touch. We hope to come back for more of our special occasions. To dine in good restaurants with good food is one thing, but to feel important is another.
Thank you very much to the whole team of Miguel & Maria. More power...
Read moreI thought its a cuisine that's entirely Filipino. But wait! I ordered for Baby Back Ribs, french bread with spinach dip, and for dessert- Beer Icecream. Other dishes in their menu- paella, fried chicken, etc. For dessert- cheesecake! But what the heck- the food is really good! The baby back ribs are really tasty but nothing extraordinary. Their servings are really BIG- as in 2 big slabs of ribs! But instead of potatoes, they serve it with java rice. What i really like is the french bread with spinach dip! So yummy, i finished them all! Ambience inside and outside is very Filipino. But the waiters are dressed up like in French restaurants. I guess this restaurant is more of a fusion class- like east meets west kind of thing! Parking is only just for a few slots. But the waiters are courteous enough to accomodate us. We came at around 9:45pm. They told us closing time is at 10pm, but told us we are very much welcome to be their last guests. They led us inside and gave us the menu guide. For me they are really respectful and treat each and everyone of their guests superbly. Kudos to all the Staff of...
Read moreIt’s our first time at Miguel and Maria. Saturday night dinner. It’s a given that most places will be packed at this time. We were second in the wait list, and we waited for around 15 minutes to be seated. Maybe around 10 minutes to have our orders taken: Roast beef Beef salpicao Southwestern salad Hummus with warm tortilla
I was having the salad and the hummus. Didn’t want anything heavy.
Wait staff returned after maybe 5 minutes. Sorry, all salads are out. Oh. Ok i’ll just have the hummus.
Wait staff came back: Athe roast beef, sorry no more mashed potatoes. Oh ok then. Fries will do.
Wait staff returns. Sorry no tortilla with the hummus. We’ll replace with bread. Ok, bread then.
A few more minutes, wait staff is by our table again. Sorry, bread is no good. We’re not serving hummus anymore.
Long story short, i ended up not having dinner.
But we did get complimentary iced tea.
