I've ordered a coffee. Was told they only serve brewed coffee. Great - went through my mind. I'm not a fan of instant coffee. And a proper restaurant/bar certainly serves brewed coffee. So my coffee was served and in the dim light of the lantern I started to wonder if I've ordered a tea. I could see a brownish, transparent liquid. So I took a quick sniff and I could detect a hint of coffee. Well, without being too judgmental, I poured a little of the sugar syrup that was served with it, stirred and took a sip. And it tastes exactly like hot water that was sparingly flavored with a drop of coffee. Must have been an honest mistake went throughy head. Maybe someone grabbed the wrong thermos which contained hot water that was used to rinse the inside of it. So I grabbed the mug with teaspoon in hand so I could demonstrate how transparent the liquid was. The waitress asked me what was wrong and I've told her the issue. She passed the mug on to the girl behind the bar and I returned to my seat. Shortly after the waitress returned, a mug in hand and placed it in front of me. I took a sip and it was sweet. The same sweetness like I remember when I took a sip earlier. But there was this new smell. A smell I am very familiar with. Because too many times I had to drink instant coffee. You know those little, black, elongated sachets from Nescafe? I've expected at least that they would pour me a new mug of coffee, but instead she decided to intensify coffee flavor by adding instant coffee into the coffee that I had returned. How would that girl behind the bar feel if our places were swapped? Would she feel treated like a guest that received good customer service? It's important to have good staff who understand gastronomy and customer friendly service and do not blemish the business they're working at with such acts of absolute incompetency. I hope that no other guests have to experience the taste of coffee flavored hot water when ordering brewed coffee and certainly won't have to experience the use of instant coffee to enhance the flavor after returning their coffee flavored hot water. It just makes it worse and is an insult to the taste buds of a brewed...
Read moreA Disappointing Dining Experience
I recently visited a restaurant with high hopes of enjoying a delightful evening, but alas, my experience left much to be desired. While the ambiance and service were decent, the quality of their cutlery was abysmal.
To my surprise, instead of the usual stainless steel utensils, they served us with wooden cutlery. As I was enjoying my meal, the wood fork snapped in half.
Naturally, I brought the broken utensil to the attention of the staff, expecting an apology. However, I was shocked when they nonchalantly demanded that I pay a fee for the damaged cutlery. It was beyond unreasonable to hold me responsible for an item that broke while I was using it to consume my meal.
This incident left a sour taste in my mouth, quite literally. It's disheartening to think that a restaurant would prioritize profits over customer satisfaction. The lack of accountability and the audacity to demand payment for their faulty cutlery is simply unacceptable.
While there may have been some positive aspects to my dining experience, the incident with the wooden fork overshadowed any enjoyment I might have had. I cannot, in good conscience, recommend this establishment to others until they rectify their customer service and replace their subpar cutlery.
The restaurant has the potential to be so much better, but until they address these issues, it falls short of providing a truly satisfying...
Read moreWe at here as a group on 2/14/25. The place is a bit tough to find, as the road leading in is a bit tight but manageable. Once you get back to the place, the building, lighting and live music set a nice ambiance. We were seated almost immediately, however there weren’t many empty tables, which learned in the Philippines usually means the place services good food. Ordered, was told 45 minutes for food to be prepped and served, agreed to the wait. Hour and 20 minutes on checked up, they said they were plating food, then about 15 minutes later food hit the table. We ordered the feast, so a mix of their menu. I think they may have forgotten about our food being cooked as the food was over cooked, especially the kung po chicken. For a family that just demolished a feast the other night, we left about half of the food on the tray. It was 7 adults and a kid, and we ordered the small feast tray. It was bad enough, that a Filipino family opted to leave the left over behind which isn’t normal. If you are looking for good food, look elsewhere. If you are looking for a place to enjoy a drink and listen to live band then tread lightly...
