28 Treasures HK Roast + Dimsum is a small Chinese restaurant that offers a variety of Hong Kong style dishes and dimsum.
Location: The restaurant is located at the corner of N. Roxas and Banawe street. Because of its prime location, parking will be quite a challenge especially during peak hours. I suggest utilizing the smaller streets or if you come during the weekends, you can use the BDO parking across the store.
Interior/Atmosphere: Initially, I thought the restaurant would have a spacious interior, but it's actually small inside with only 10-15 seating (that is unless there are big families, which is often the case). The interior itself resembles a cafe aesthetic with the center decor being a light fixture with greenery around it. The place is bright because of the natural light coming through the glass window that surrounds the store.
Service: Because it caters mostly to families or big crowd, there are about 4-5 female staffs who man the floor. As with most Chinese restaurant, typical customers order more than two dishes so it does take some time before the servers can attend to another table. You might even come at a time when the place is packed. In this case, the staffs will have you seated near the door and let you choose your food as you wait. There are times when the servers are not as observant with their customers so you may experience having to raise your hand for a while with no one paying attention to you.
Food: We ordered the Two Treasures Rice Topping (P298), Pork Set Lauriat Meal (P288), 4pcs Prawn Hakaw (P158), and Hot and Sour Soup (P338). The food took some time to arrive, but I couldn't complain because of how well the main dishes were made. The Prawn Hakaw was average. The skin was not the translucent wrapper we are accustomed to; it had a very doughy and grainy texture, but the shrimp filling was meaty and juicy. The Hot and Sour Soup was good and better than most restaurants though it could still use some of that sour punch to it. It was full of mushrooms and and tofu pieces, and there was a crunch coming from one of the vegetables. For the Two Treasures Rice Topping, we chose soy chicken and lechon macau—and this hits the spot if you're craving for lechon. The crispy skin to meat and fat ratio was divine, especially dipped in the ginger garlic sauce. The soy chicken was just the right juiciness, succulent to the bite, and could do well even without the hoisin sauce. The best of these was the Pork Set Lauriat Meal. For the price you pay, this is premium food. The sweet and sour pork kept its crunch from the breading despite being coated by the sauce, it was savory, tangy, and tender, paired with this was the yang chow fried rice and in my opinion, even Uncle Roger would give this a good Fuiyoh! It had that nostalgic Chinese flavor you would get in reunion dinners. It is delectable and satisfying!

Read moreSaw this in a food vlog and decided to try it out. Didn't disappoint at all. Everything cooked to order, fresh, and delicious. We had the Beef Wonton Noodles and the Beef Lauriat Set, along with some Hakaw, Sharksfin Dumplings, and Beancurd Rolls. Portions were very good and really bang for the buck.
The place itself was not that big, only had around 10 tables, but really lends to the atmosphere of a quaint little eatery. Staff were friendly, attentive, and very accommodating. They do accept cashless payments as well so a really huge plus when you're dining out without cash.
Overall a really solid place to eat Hong Kong-style food. Highly recommended, especially if you're craving for an authentic Chinese meal and don't want to go through the hassle of going...
Read moreWe were craving for chinese food and tried 28 Treasure HK. We order their lauriat beef and pork meal. The sweet and sour pork was superb! Pork was very soft with a crunchy breading. Sauce was not too sweet and is perfect with their yang chow rice. The beef lauriat was okay, is was very soft and tasted like beef was marinated. The chopseuy included with the meal was very tasty. The hakao was simply the best with huge shrimps inside. Blakc gulaman is also good, though the glass was full of gulaman bits and was very cold, but was like 80% gulaman bits and 20% water. The pork asado was also good, but serving wise for the price was a bit steep. Lacking in taste and was served with hoisin sauce. The oyster cake texture was like...
