Almost good food, bad service. We ordered the 3-roast combination rice topping and the soy chicken cuts that my companion had was like more than half bones, hardly any meat. The lechon macau was good though.
We ordered veggies to go with our meal, but we were almost done eating and still it wasn't served. I had to follow up twice. First, the waitress didn't get back to me so I followed up again after 5 mins, she said "nakasalang na" and I asked how many minutes and she couldn't answer, then another waitress not even near the kitchen blurted out "10 minutes." For stir fry pechay (or kailan as stated in the menu), that's quite long if it's currently being cooked, so obviously the other waitress was lying. Of course we weren't going to wait that long and eat the veggies for dessert, so we cancelled that order.
Last, they only accept cash, then they returned my P100 bill and asked for another. It was old but usable for transactions (it wasn't torn or tampered). So I asked why, and her reply was "when we give this as change to our customers they won't accept it." How is that another customer's problem then? I just exchanged it so we can finally get out, the staff is really really annoying.
Improvements can really be done with customer service and the portions (specifically the chicken) given in...
Read moreTuen Mun Roasts is one of the original founding restaurants in Banawe, Quezon City, and it's easy to see why it has stood the test of time. As a Hong Kong roast duck style restaurant, Tuen Mun offers a unique and flavorful dining experience that is both affordable and high-quality.
The ambiance of the restaurant is reminiscent of the mom and pop small shops in Hong Kong, where the food quality is always top-notch. We ordered two combinations of roasted char siu and roasted duck, and the flavors truly satisfied our Hong Kong cuisine cravings. The meat was succulent and perfectly roasted, and it was clear that the chefs take great pride in their craft.
In addition to the roasted meats, Tuen Mun also serves other dishes that are good to be paired with the current dish. The staff were attentive and happy to recommend dishes that would complement our order.
Overall, Tuen Mun Roasts is a go-to place for anyone craving Hong Kong-style cuisine. The combination of affordability and quality, paired with the cozy ambiance and attentive service, make this restaurant a standout in the area. Whether you're a regular or a first-time visitor, Tuen Mun Roasts is...
Read moreAmbience The entrance was marked open but I was asked to enter through Shiok Shiok instead. Since I read that ownership for both restaurants is the same, I took initiative to ask for the Tuen Mun menu already.
Food Century Egg is always delicious. I just love the flavor! I ate each piece alternately with my main dish.
Braised Noodles with Lechon Macau and Roasted Duck was a must-try since I wanted some duck. Since they bombarded their menu with multiple braised noodle dishes, I kept my eyes on that part. It's good! Noodles were saucy and soft yet they left enough room to enjoy chewing through. Lechon skin was to die for knock on wood but I put aside the minimal fat it came with. Meat was tender goodness! Duck was just right in tenderness and flavor.
Service It was quick and calling a server was convenient. Waiting time was fair and not asking for service charge motivated me...
