Review of Chowking – Quick Asian Fast Food with a Crunchy Twist
Date of Visit: July 2025, around lunchtime Purpose of Visit: Casual lunch while running errands nearby
Located along a bustling roadside strip, this branch of Chowking, one of the Philippines' popular Chinese fast food chains, offers a convenient stop for those craving rice meals with an Asian flair. The storefront is bright and easy to spot with its red-and-white CK logo and large promotional posters—on this visit, the spotlight was on their new Chicken Chop with Asian BBQ Sauce, which starts at just ₱75.
Location & Accessibility: This branch is situated in a commercial row, close to other businesses like LRO Medical Services and loan offices. While street-side, it’s reasonably accessible on foot. Limited parking is available for about two vehicles, so it's advisable to come early or be ready to wait during peak hours. For commuters, the location is easily reachable via jeepney or tricycle.
First Impressions: The exterior is modern and clean, with clear branding and promotional visuals. The Chicken Chop signage immediately catches your eye, promising a crunchy and flavorful bite.
Interior & Atmosphere: While the interior isn’t visible in full from this angle, the large glass windows reveal a typical fast-food setup with red-and-white seating, tiled floors, and counter service. It's casual and functional, ideal for a quick meal rather than a lingering stay. Expect a bit of noise during meal times, as families and office workers frequent the place.
Service & Offerings: Chowking’s menu centers around Chinese-inspired rice bowls, noodles, and dim sum. The Chicken Chop with Asian BBQ Sauce is a recent addition—crispy on the outside with a sweet-savory glaze and served over rice. Portion sizes are generally fair, and prices are affordable. Food service is relatively quick, especially for dine-in or takeout.
Value for Money: With meals starting at ₱75, it's budget-friendly and satisfying. This makes it a good option for students, workers, or anyone on the go.
Summary: This Chowking branch delivers consistent, quick-service Chinese comfort food at great value. Though parking is tight, the food and convenience make it a solid choice for a filling and flavorful bite in the area.

The service is okay and the staff are sweet and accommodating. I asked them some questions and I was courteously answered.
I noticed though that there were not too many people there. I understand because it was a Saturday. So I noticed that one staff was cleaning one portion at 5:37 (as indicated in my receipt). It was okay, I know maybe they don't have other time to clean up, or maybe they were just taking advantage of the lack of customers. I just hoped that they used some sweet smelling detergent for the floor. It did not make me feel good eating my Halo-halo with the strong smell of floor bleach...

I ordered my mail and it was cold so I returned it in the next meal they gave to me was just barely warm so again I had to return it to finally get a meal that was at a reasonable temperature.
Not only serving these meals at an unsatisfactory low temperature is not good enough it is also unsafe and in breach of health and food safety standards.
I really need some quality control and the management need the sack and need replacing so with someone who knows how to manage a place and how to make sure hot food...
