The hotel is not as good as the website makes it out to be.
The first issue was on arrival. The first room they gave me, the door would not shut. The staff made me feel stupid by their thinking I did not know how to shut a door, but the door or door jam was recently replaced and the door did not fit into the jam. They moved me to another room.
The second issue is that the beds are very firm, like steel girder firm. Not that pleasant for sleeping.
Third, the air conditioner is a window unit mounted in the wall. It was very loud with a clicking sound that lasted all day and night. Luckily the air conditioner stopped working and was replaced with one that does not click, but has a loud fan. I can deal with that as long as there's cool air.
The bathroom has no counter space, the shower pan has a hole in the bottom ledge that allows water to flow out of the shower onto the bathroom floor, partially flooding the floor. I tried using the bathmat to block the hole with limited success.
If you come here and expect to work in your room, bring extension cords, as there are only three outlets in the room, and they are on the other side of the room from the desk, making it impossible to plug in without an extension cord. I have been working in the lobby in the evenings, as it has more outlets than the room.
On the plus side, there are many places to eat nearby, a Starbucks 350m away, a laundry service next door, and traffic is plentiful (LOL).
Basically, if you are travelling for a short period, do not need much as far as amenities, and need bare basics, this is the...
Read moreThe location was great, as it was near where I needed to be while in the Philippines. The room did not appear to be clean, and the air conditioning made weird noises until it died. They replaced the air conditioning unit, but the sound still remained. It was water dripping from the air conditioner above mine and landing on the metal casing. The TV cable was held together by black tape that gave way mid-way through the 30-day stay. The windows are single pane glass, and every sound outside feels like it's in the room with you. The traffic whistles start at about 5-6:00 AM. Not to mention the hotel is behind a major hospital so sirens all night long. The noise was bad enough that I left there 5 nights early and went to the Hilton Manila.I did not see any of the amenities listed on Trip.com other than a restaurant. I will say that the staff is hard working and do the best with what they have.I could write so much more about drainage issues in the bathroom, ants coming into the room from around the air conditioner, and just a general lack of maintenance, but it would take too long on my phone.Needless to say, I won't be back or recommend...
Read moreStayed here for 3D 2N. Provides the basics - a comfortable room and warm shower after a tiring day. Should you want to go out, it is close to many food establishments and convenience stores to stock up on snacks. The room and facilities are dated but never saw a rodent or a roach. Just wished that they would empty the trashcans daily.
The shower was hot enough to relax sore muscles. The aircon wasn't that quiet but was helpful in drowning out noise from the streets. The AC was cold enough for comfortable sleep.
Their restaurant serves breakfast from 7-10 AM and stays open til 10 PM. If you need to eat earlier, several fastfood shops nearby are open 24 hours. The food choices are limited and not worth writing home about.
But the biggest asset of the place are it's personnel. From the guard, to front desk persons, the restaurant staff, and those attending to your requests ... Very pleasant, helpful, and warm. Establishments would have less problems with guests if they were as good as those in this hotel.
Will definitely stay here again should I have an appointment...
