Like all other iconic restaurants, this place is one that you would keep coming back to. One because of the taste of the food and second for the superb service. I rated them a bit low because they were out of lechon at 2PM so we had to settle for the paksiw which is a bit sweet compared to what it was before. What bombed was when I requested a lumpiang ubod without shrimp - which was very easy years before. The reply was rude "Ay wala hong ganun, yan na yan, kung ayaw nyo iba na lang" The salmon sinigang was out and so are the other dishes. I saw more lumpia coming out and are being added to the display so I got really upset. We came all the way from Makati upon the requests of our visiting guests and this is a great experience you will never forget. On to MaMonLuk, another Quezon City Icon and hopefully our experience will be better. Elar's WE ARE NEVER COMING BACK. Your dining area has not improved through the years and even if your lechon is good, there are more lechon places in Makati that would give us the best service than your carinderia. We should have insisted on RICO'S LECHIN IN GLORIETTA. The owners and the franchise holders are very nice and they always find a way to give in to your requests because ypu have food allergies. NO PHOTOS WERE TAKEN ANYMORE - Dinuguang laman loob and paksiw na lechon served in a small bowl carinderia style with plastic (melamine) dinner plates is not a good advert. What surprised us was through the years they did not bother to add to the menu fresh juices which is good with lechon or local dishes. When our friend asked what's his choice for a drink - the counter showed him a small tray with coke, tea, and very little options with a curt "Yan lang ho...
Read moreWas in line for 3 hours last Dec 24 2022, ordered 1 kilo of lechon. We usually order 1 whole but for this season it wasn't necessary. We ate the lechon the same day for late lunch. When I heated it on the toaster, there's an unpleasant smell from the lechon. To cut the story short l, I went back to them the following day. The guy insisted that it was the way I handled the food, that it should be consumed within 2 hours. Our conversation is just going in circles and didn't want to argue for the spirit of Christmas. The guy said the he can't do anything about it.
I was also expecting that they are going to tell me that I am the only customer who returned. After being a loyal customer for more than a decade which I mentioned, there was zero effort or attempt to atleast make even a slight gesture to compensate on this incident.
Well, they know that they will not lose anything that is why they don't seem to care. I emailed them hoping to get a reply. Not also demanding for anything, just want to see if they care for...
Read moreThe best lechon for me. Have been ordering lechon here for decades.
If you wish to order a lechon here, you should come early as they quickly run out especially during weekends and special occasions.
They also have a restaurant that not many people know. Its in the same building but you wouldn't know its there because it doesnt have a sign outside. Only the regulars know about it. Just look for the door or ask the guards. They serve turo-turo lunch there, serving typical Pinoy dishes that changes day-to-day. They're delicious and although a little pricey compared to fastfood restaurants are worth it. You can order chopped lechon here by the kilo. The place is nice and cool. May be packed during peak lunch time...
