UCC used to be one of our favorite restaurants, but not anymore. UCC Eastwood in particular has horrible customer service - the servers are inattentive and can't solve simple customer problems.
Mom ordered 1 Carbonara for dine-in AND 1 pasta dish + 1 iced tea for take out. The server took note of this and repeated her order correctly. The take out order was placed on the table after 15 minutes. But the Carbonara, which was supposed to be a dine in order, never came out. After 40 minutes of waiting, mom called the manager over to ask them to check on her food. She was then told that the Carbonara was actually packed into the take out order...!
Mom got angry and asked why none of the servers as well as the manager noticed that she was just sitting at her table with no food for over 40 minutes. She also asked why this mistake was made because the server had clearly repeated the order correctly after taking it down. The server/manager then suggested that she dump the Carbonara out from the take out box and onto a plate so that she could eat it in the store. ??? It had already been 30 minutes since the Carbonara was packed and would be cold, not to mention inedible, clumped up and stale unless it was, at the very least, re-heated.
My mom told this to the server & manager and was met with a reply she didn't expect. The server touched the box and said, "It's still warm anyway. And the chef says its OK." ??? Not only did she not offer to have it re-heated in the kitchen, she also insisted that stale Carbonara was fine. ??? Why even bother working at a restaurant if that's what you think good food is. The manager didn't even do anything to help solve the issue.
My mom was hungry and fed up by then, so she refused to pay for the Carbonara. While they were sorting out the bill, they even had the gall to tell us that they know who we are and that we're frequent customers at their branch. So this is how you treat your frequent customers? OK, then. Great to know.
If you want to pay for shoddy customer service and inedible, clumped up & stale Carbonara, UCC is the place you're looking for. If you actually want to be treated like a valued customer, I suggest you find another place to eat.
The photo below shows the cold, stale, clumped up Carbonara put on a plate straight from the take out box with no re-heating after 30 minutes at UCC Eastwood. You can see the take out utensils...
Read moreI've been to many UCC and this is by far the worst. I have not tried the food yet in this branch, but I know sa UCC masarap naman ang pagkain.
The service here is really really slow even though there are only 4 tables being served (2 of the tables already have food in placed).
I was the 3rd customer and I ordered my food 10 to 15 min in advance before the 4th customer came in. The 4th customer was wearing his and her branded clothes, LV bag, etc. Meanwhile, I am wearing nothing special. The funny thing is mas nauna pa serving ng customer #4 (3 people sila). FYI, I only ordered cornbeef hash and omelet and it was just me and my baby. When I questioned the waitress, she had nothing to say. Tahimik lang sya and not even an apology.
I would not expect experiencing discrimination in my own country right in front of my son. Very disappointed of such behavior. If you want your food to be serve on time and be treated fairly in this branch MAKE SURE to wear your best outfit and your...
Read moreI was waiting for a friend (elementary and highschool batchmate); we were to attend a batch party of sorts.
I've tried the Roast Master Sumiyaki at home (whole beans) but I wanted something a bit lighter. The staff suggested their UCC Special Blend Medium Roast. It did not disappoint. (I think I find the charcoal roasted Roast Master Sumiyaki as a tad acidic for me). They also gave me a saucer of cinnamon that I requested. (Starbucks no longer had Cinnamon available; supplier problems they said).
Their Blueberry Cheesecake was very good. It is not sweet. The cheesecake is somewhat salty and savory which compliments the mildly tart blueberry. The cake itself is not mushy; it...
