Famous place in Maginhawa Quezon City to have salmon fish head stew with tamarind. It’s actually a go to place for sinigang na Ulo-ulo (head) of Salmon fish.
They have other dishes such as adobong kalabaw, which actually taste good and not difficult to chew (tama lang ang lambot). Gising gising is always available (it is spicy vegetable ). Sinaing na tulingan is good although I first thought it is cooked like paksiw. We have not tried their other dishes. Some are also not available while we are in pandemic. probably because not many people go out to eat.
they have some snacks available like peanuts, friend banana with sugar, others.
place is clean, you can have free water (but not bottled) and you can choose different beverages. they dont have coke products, by the way.
staff is okay, they serve fast (but not if there are many customers). if not in pandemic, you will need to have a reservation, otherwise it is very difficult to find a table.
if you bring your vehicle, parking is along the street, you just have to trust that it is safe. there are many restaurants around so you will have to be lucky to find a spot.
those without vehicle can reach here thru a cab or tricycle.

Read moreWe had to wait for sometime before the Ulo Ulo sinigang was served because they ran out of it and was still cooking at that time - good for us because it's very hot right out of the casserole! The resto has dishes that one seldom finds in other restos like adobong rabbit, kalabaw and kabayo.
The prices are quite higher gauging from the looks of the resto - carinderia style, open dining area(the area in the photo is the best section with covered chairs and festive buntings the resto has.). It has 3 big seating areas, apparently due to the growing diners being drawn in, mostly working people from nearby areas. You have to bring your to go leftover to the order counter because the waiters would not wrap it for you - policy.
Tried the rabbit adobo on our 2nd visit. Tastes like the traditional chicken adobo but without sauce. It turned out, rabbit meat has no after taste. Salmon head sinigang is lightly seasoned, i.e. not very sour like the usual sinigang. Allegedly, the resto is using natural sour fruit for the sinigang. The saucy Laing was not to my liking as I prefer the dry simmered spicy laing wrapped in banana leaves brought from Bicol...
Read moreOur go-to place for when we crave for SINIGANG or need hot soup and filling meal (RICE!) for breakfast after dropping off kids at school.
So far, this place has been most consistent in serving its famous clear, clean, tasty, fresh ULO NG PINK SALMON SINIGANG for decades! They add fresh leafy vegetables just before serving and you may ask for MORE SOUP! I personally love their matching condiments of CALAMANSI, BAGOONG ISDA and VINEGAR for that added tang-and-salt taste that would make one ask for MORE RICE. Their rice is also just like half of the usual servings so it's okay to ask for more!
They are also well-known for Fried Chicken a-la Max's, Laing, Carabao Meat Adobo and other exotic dishes. Traditional Pinoy snacks are maxe available in the afternoons too.
No aircon here and CASH ONLY basis. A parking attendant will assist you. A neater, more homey peg awaits you at their nipa hut dining hall at the back.
I suggest you do your CR...
