Briefly, Xocolat is the cozy neighborhood coffee and cake place where you can spend time with family or friends, just not a lot of them as the place seats only about eight or ten.
You have to look for it at the end of a short corridor. No one comes here by accident. If you are here, it is because you want to be.
While Xocolat prides itself with excellent chocolate cakes, brownies, and hot chocolate beverage, my personal favorite is their spicy tuyo pasta (excellent). I always get the vietnamese coffee tho I realize it may not be for everybody. Too sweet (yes). Fussy (you need to wait until it is heated by the candle over which it is served). But I like its sheer novelty!
Their cookies make good gifts.
Bamba and the rest of the staff are very friendly. They can tell you what's good to have. Or just offer a warm smile.
As the place is extremely small, some may deduct points for atmosphere. But I find its intimacy strangely welcoming. It's like walking into the informal dining room of your own home. Just be ready to share the place with other people who have found Xocolat a good place to eat, chill, or even work a bit.
Parking tends to be tight.
Summary: Theough the years, I have followed Xocolat through 3 or 4 of its sites, one branch transferring just around the corner or at the end of the same street. The food offered has become fewer. Still, I have always been able to find a...

How did I know of this brand? I was at Kultura looking for a local Cocoa brand mix as the imported ones were too expensive and too sweet! So as I kept looking, I stumbled upon this brand Xocolat and gave it a try. I instantly loved it and it became my go-to brands for Cocoa Mix!
Dark - Thereās almost no sugar, so you might want to put a sweetener of your choice but itās definitely chocolate-y!
Rush - It has a hint of coffee and is a little sweet, but you might wanna add an extra sweetener if you want the hot chocolate to taste sweeter. This is their version of mocha but I felt that the added coffee amplified the taste of the chocolate instead, though nonetheless, itās still great!
Old Fashioned - This kind of Cocoa Powder is perfect for Hot Chocolate since it has the right amount of sweetness.
This is a great Cocoa mix brand as I personally feel it beats all other leading brands, including Ghirardelli. Price wise, itās a bit expensive but definitely...

Their food here is really good - no fail. But my fave treat here is their ice cold Chocolate Mudslide. The best for chocolate lovers with crushed chocolate cookies at the bottom of your glass. They used to have brownies in a similar drink but I donāt think they still have it.
Their pastas are good but my all time favorite is their Chorizo Blanco. Although I didnāt have that today. Instead I tried 2 yummy desserts : their moist carrot walnut cake that had thick cream-buttery spreads between carrot cake slices and their honey yogurt cheesecake with a perfect tangy taste that somehow balances the sweetness. Guess these desserts are perfect with coffee taken black. But today was sweetness overload. Forgivable...
